A Trance Yearbook of 1999 - Part Eight

When I saw the flyer for the Captured Emotions Festival I thought two things: 1) wow, what a line up and 2) Hooj and Oliver Lieb is one hell of a combination! So I went digging for some older Hooj Choons tracks and Lieb tracks that I don't already have to try and create a mix that captures that mid to late 90s progressive trance / techno trance sound. This one starts off progressive with some well known Hooj tracks before getting into that heavier techno trance sound for the last hour or so. Hope you like it, feedback welcome. All tracks original mix unless stated in the TL. Two tracks (track 1 and track 11) that were either not released on Hooj or have Oliver Lieb involvement are marked *:

Classic Trance Sessions 029 - Hooj / Oliver Lieb

Chronicles of Trance returns for its third chapter.
Spanning across six hours and featuring a grand total of 141 tracks.

Utilising intricate transitions, innovative layering and harmonic mixing to produce a cohesive sonic journey, this mix makes full use of the sync button, with up to 4 decks playing at any given time and utilisation of loops, snippets, acapellas and on the fly edits using cue points.

Autumn trance Classics 2025

Good evening, here is the 13th episode of Gatecrasher Experiences. I am very happy to invite Eddie Swales into the equation. After meeting Eddie a couple of times at Trance events, I realised he was as passionate as myself about the former club brand Gatecrasher and all the memories of the nights we have had there. Eddie began his DJing journey making Gatecrasher inspired mixes and posting them to music pages. Eddie’s mixes were passed onto Crasher legend Scott Bond, which then gained Eddie a set at the Rebooted afterparty, which if you ask me is the closest event you can get to a Gatecrasher event these days. Eddie has now gone on to bag bookings at various Trance events including Sets in the Trance Festival in Malta. I can’t thank Eddie enough for putting in the time and effort to make another Crasher mix, as I know he has very much enjoyed putting it together. Eddie is such a nice, positive guy and always enthusiastic about Trance music. I am looking forward to seeing him at future events.
