Really nice track and sometimes when you lack the fundamentals (as I somewhat do too) it allows you to break the rules in a good sort of way.

One of my first GarageBand songs! There are multiple levels of meaning, as always.. just enjoying my @ stripped series, yes! Hope something catches your ears.. in a good way.. btw.. I’m not making any threats.. it’s just how I perceive people perceive, Christ, sometimes… I call Him Lord and Savior… the biggest blessing to all of us! Yes! You may disagree…it’s not a theological debate.. it’s mostly aimed at me.. something to remind me.. to reflect on.. to consider…I prefer uplifting statements..  if not your cup of tea or coffee.. please @ hard pass.. though you are welcome to share anything you desire ! 😇🙏

This song began with Chris composing it with his synth, guitar, drum pad and bass. Like many of his songs, it was pretty well formed before the rest of the group got a hold of it. This song was part of a load of songs he shared with the rest of Eclectic Collective all at once. We've been picking them off one by one, though, as we're always grateful to Chris for sharing his magic with us.
  The odd sound of the rhythmic melody, which uses chromatic walks, immediately caught Josh's ears. It struck him as something the Doors might have come up with. So, he set about replacing Chris' simple bass line with something fancier, as well as coming up with the lead guitar for the whole thing, and the lyrics and vocals, as well. Josh was really taken with this one, and heard all kinds of parts in it almost immediately. Ken went to bat next, adding his innovative, John Densmore-like drums to it, replacing Chris' initial rhythmic idea. JJ came next and added the essential piano you hear throughout. After that, Mark found a place for his amazing bassoon/harpsicord solo in the middle. But before it was all over, Chris also added some doubled vocals, too, to actualize the lyrics, which are about two friends taking an acid trip together. 
  After it was all laid down, we asked Tez to mix it for us, which he did in his expert fashion, as always.
  This is our latest song composed by Chris, and we love working on his music. If you dig this, you should pay his page a visit, too, as it's full of diamonds. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

You Are Also Me - The Eclectic Collective

The meaning of this track goes back to my childhood.
The thumbnail image for this track is an edited image based on a photo of me as a boy.

I took piano lessons from an early age, but as I got busier with sports club activities, I quit. From there, my piano skills quickly faded away. I lost my musical foundation—and along with it, my confidence.
Later, in high school, I jumped on the trend and started playing guitar on my own, but I failed there too. With skills that barely counted as a foundation, I joined a school festival band, and after that experience, I stopped practicing guitar altogether.
(Years later, I would meet teachers for guitar and DTM, and that’s when I started practicing again.)

All of these experiences chipped away at my confidence.
And yet—even back then—I loved music. I was always listening, earphones in, living as a listener.

At some point, a question began to grow inside me:
Because I lack fundamentals, does that mean I’m not allowed to enjoy music?
Is only music that’s neatly polished and perfectly finished worthy of praise, while music full of passion—despite being clumsy—is dismissed as nothing more than “random noise”?

My music has no solid foundation. I can create music along chord progressions to some extent, but relying heavily on chords feels like returning to the idea that “music must be done this way”—a rigid, widely accepted notion that reminds me of my classical piano days. That’s why I don’t like excessive use of chord progressions.

Music should be more than just something clean and pretty.
Even with unrefined skills, having the courage to express yourself matters more than anything. The act of expression itself carries deep meaning. And even if someone laughs and says, “That track isn’t worth listening to,” my belief—the one I’ve just described—becomes my driving force.

This track speaks for exactly that.
Even if it’s rough. Even if it’s dirty, even stained.
It holds onto something essential: my own will.
