Preparing your Flight

Henning Pohlmann discovered his love for music early in his youth. Whenever he listened to music he closed his eyes to dream and picture the story the notes were telling. Being fascinated by how much could be told without using words, he started to take piano and guitar lessons. With continously growing musical knowledge he played in several rock and metal bands as keyboarder and/or guitar player. And whatever he did, the most important thing he always wanted to do was telling stories – by music.

In 2005 this led him to the Artez Conservatory Enschede where he studied MediaMusic and decided to focus on film scoring. Inspired by new techniques and influences, he and his talent got even more attention. In 2008 he was invited to work for Gremmy Studios to write background music for famous nature documentaries like Terra X or Abenteuer Erde, broadcasted international on several TV stations. After his Bachelor`s Degree in 2011, he went to Los Angeles, California, invited by one of his mentors – Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL – to work in his studio at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions as an assistant composer. During his time there, he worked on the scores of several major releases, such as “Sherlock Holmes – A Game of Shadows” and “New Kids Nitro”. In 2012, he was asked to write the music for the German movie “Am Ende der Zeit”, which will be his first full feature solo soundtrack. Beside that, he is still working for Gremmy Studios and also joined Schallwellness as co-composer.

Today Henning Pohlmann offers a wide range of services. From full scores for movies or documentaries, MIDI programming for Top40 Bands, all kinds of music or audio production – anything is possible. As long as you got a story to tell …
