Melted Faces original mix reminds, by its driving beats and low-slung bass, the early nineties Detroit moisture.

Borrowed Identity (Mistress Recordings / Quintessentials), a German-Romanian producer, which last productions has been released on DVS1's new imprint 'Mistress', gives here his layback and "savoureuse" interpretation by rearranging the original sample groove.

Dj Steef (Retrofit / Gomma / Numoment Recordings), the mysterious french producer, finalized the EP with 2 more deep and downtempo remixes with a catchy and seductive rolling bass perfectly seated on a powerfull drum loop pattern.

Newcomers Brame & Hamo from Sligo in Ireland have teamed up for the first time ever for this fine deep debut EP. Brame already released on Morris Audio before and had a very successful EP together with Klansee last year. Even more new music is on the way for these guys in 2014 on labels like Drumpoet Community and Saints & Sonnets... so this will be a great year for them for sure and we are once again very happy to give you a first debut release on Dirt Crew!

“Street Urchin” and “Ghetto Lament” are two fine pieces of classics deep house with dark rolling bass lines and soulful chord progressions, the Piano sample in “Ghetto Lament” is a beautiful reference to the golden era of Disco. As a little extra we have none other than Glenn Astro & Imyrmind on the remix, these guys have been putting out some serious dope stuff lately and this remix is no exception... raw underground house music.

The last two tracks on this EP is “Retrospect” on the vinyl and “Fear In Rapture” as digital only track are more straight forward and stripped down stabby groovers with quirky acid lines that work extremely well on the dance floors ... road tested many times already...

Brame & Hamo will definitely make big waves with this release and we are happy to welcome them to the Dirt Crew family.

Dutch psych-rock artiste Jacco Gardner, and production partner in crime, the percussive culprit behind many a twisted tropical beat, Nic Mauskovic, have teamed up for a devilish EP of cinematic, Balearic disco for their debut EP as Bruxas. Wielding a love for the wild and exotic, Más Profundo is a record influenced by the black arts, the sun, and the love of making nostalgic, summertime music.

Fall under a deep, exotic spell with the new project that is Bruxas; a psychedelic journey into the tropics. Together Gardner and Mauskovic are all about pure vibes, and international feel. You will constantly be picking the sand out from the record's grooves, whether you play it on the beach or not. Gardner's self-titled solo project, featuring Mauskovic on drums- has to date, won him many, global plaudits, comparing him to the likes of Broadcast, and Tame Impala. Mauskovic meanwhile garnered himself a reputation for sub-equatorial percussion, featuring in bands such as Altin Gün, Eerie Wanda, and of course, the aptly-titled cumbia, new-wave act, The Mauskovic Dance Band.

Bruxas came together when the two were playing backing band for the 70s James Brown-meets-Black Sabbath act, Witch. Feeling inspired, they began their collaborative musical odyssey by writing new music together in Portugal.

(Bruxas is Portuguese for witch by the way). "It was a combination of things that sparked the idea to start Bruxas," Gardner states, "our love of 70s soundtracks, library music, African disco, and Afrobreat." Mixing together their well-honed percussive rhythms, along with layered synths and the occasional vocal, Bruxas was born; a project less on the side of fuzz-rock, and more on the side of an occultist rhythmic, devil-dance. 

"We both love exotica and electronic music. I was really getting into library music while working on my last album, stuff recorded in the 70s that is difficult to classify, where traces of psychedelia can be found in almost everything. We wanted to make our own mix, and see if we could mold it into a contemporary music project, that’s easy to bring to the stage." - Jacco Gardner

The Dekmantel EP is a kaleidoscope cabinet of curiosities, unearthed from the tropical wilderness. 'Más Profundo' is the deepest of all the treasures, while 'Tropicacovas', with its wistful island ambiance, conga beats and rolling bass, soundtracks the whole affair, before delving into the jungle with 'Selva Cosmica'. Animals gasp as the energy becomes more electric, while the Dutch duo play on, with 'Plantas Falsas'. A true carnival of wild assorts. Drinks are free. Fun, and sunshine, there’s enough for everyone. "Each track is a little journey, some through Africa, others just at a fancy Italian pool party," Gardner says about the EP, "there is definitely a worldly character about them, which ties into the exotica element that connects all the tracks."

From early white labels on Make Love In Public Spaces and his own Adesse Versions label through to his recent outings on Heist, Numbers, Razor n Tape, Let’s Play House and Local Talk, he continuous to impress with his raw, sample-heavy production which brings pure energy to the dance floor.
For his Pulp Fusion EP, Adesse presents three diverse and brilliant cuts, all showing off his deft touch in the studio and providing what we feel is his strongest work to date. Pulp Fusion leads the A side with cutting clavinets doubling up the syncopated bassline, a super-charged romp where disco meets filtered house resulting in a track with widespread appeal despite its raw and underground approach.
The A2 entitled Fade Out drops the BPM’s for a string-drenched, Philly soul jam, heavy on percussion but with a gentle lilt and Balearic vibe that makes it perfect for the wind down.
Last but definitely not your average B side filler we have the mighty Raw in it's Live Edit incarnation. Militantly minimal in sonic palate, this jacked up house track simply rocks the spot thanks to Adesse’s ballsy arrangement, production prowess and nasty bassline, rounding off this EP with a punch.
