The music of Three Jazz Trio is freely improvised in a non-idiomatic manner, drawing influences from jazz, minimalism, and ambient music. 

On this album - in contrast to a lot of today’s music - a great deal of time is taken so that the pieces evolve slowly. 

The sometimes quite harsh - but mostly subtle – live electronics add some quirky spices to the playing. 

As Joe Zawinul said, “We always solo, we never solo,” roles are not fixed and change frequently. Structure evolves dynamically and can certainly be found in spite of the free improvisation.

Nonlinear Pulse Varieties

This piece was written on the occasion of the opening of the painting exhibition "Industrial Landscapes" by Ben Stolk . 
The first movement is an improvisation using special effects (deconstructions) programmed in Max/MSP.
The second part is a canon for two contrabass flutes performed by one player using an exact computer delay.

Nordic Resonance is a duo performance by Renzo Spiteri (percussion, electronics, field recordings) and Richard Craig (flutes, electronics), shaped by the raw beauty of Shetland, where land, sea, and sky meet in constant motion. Drawing its breath from the edge of the Nordic sphere, the work invites deep listening and intuitive response, unfolding through free improvisation and layered interplay.

The island's diverse soundscapes—wind-carved coastlines, shifting weather, birdsong, silence—form both source material and inspiration, resonating through acoustic and electronic textures. Instruments, found sounds, and live processing blur the lines between the human and the elemental. Nordic Resonance is not only a musical performance, but a conversation: between environment and artist, between sound and sensation, between what is heard and what lies just beneath. Each performance is immersive and attuned to the moment— a quiet invocation of place through sound, presence, and listening.

Monochromer Garten VIII for Alto flute (2016)

We recorded this Lento (slowly) on Sunday January 17th 2021, at La Générale Nord-Est in the fourteenth arrondissement of Paris, inside « Défaillance Systémique » (‘Systemic Failure’) an installation—“a merry-go-round, a theatre of forms activated by motors in a process of composition and decomposition”—created and set up there by French visual artist Anaïs Gauthier.
 
Caught inside fields woven from an endlessly permuting series of wavering electro-notes and -lines, Cathy Heyden’s saxophone follows the looping trajectory of three amorphous, wet and dripping objects—points—sculpted by Anaïs, sometimes with hesitation, at others with indignation, sometimes with joy,  at others with anger, caught inside the rigid and merciless grid of a small, closed world, sufficient unto itself.

Rébus & Har$—Harold Schellinx and Emmanuel Rébus—have been collaborating in various guises (Commando Anti-Bruit, Ana-R, DIKTAT, unPublic …) for near to twenty years and are well on their way to become the Lennon/McCartney of this 21st century’s speculative non-academic electroacoustic music. They performed at experimental music festivals in Europe, the United Staes, Asia and elsewhere, and presented their research on freely improvised non-academic electroacoustic music at international academic conferences on music and media art history. 

Cathy Heyden's organic treatment of the saxophone timbres, textures & materials play a predominant role. A self-taught improviser, she likes to cross genres, and a strong commitment to corporal engagement provides a natural link of her music to the world of performance. Cathy is a central force within the Parisian free improvisation community and over the years has performed internationally in many different settings, collaborating among many others with Claude Parle, Erik Minkinnen, Howie Reeve, Allochtone, Rogier Smal, Thierry Müller, Jacques Berrocal and German Krautrock legends Faust.
