Triumphantly rising from the Mississippi Delta, via Mound Bayou, MS, with the true weight of the gudda on his back, multidimensional musical phenom Jae' Gudda is poised and ready to make an everlasting mark on the hip hop world. Joseph Dancy was born on June 10th, 1988, in North Memphis to mother Cassandra Dancy and father David Dancy (RIP), the youngest of three siblings, Jae Gudda was introduced to the harsh realities of life at an early age that exposed him to violence, drug use, and the fact that the imaginings of a child are definite illusions. With Jae Gudda and his family dealing with the vices of his father, his mother made the tough decision of relocating their family to Mound Bayou, MS. Jae Gudda displayed an early interest in music, but that interest would be made to lie in wait due to his pursue as a basketball career. A basketball career which was cut short after only three years post high school due to Jae Gudda;s ill-advised street antics. His experiences formed the influential foundation which gave rise to Gudda Musik. Inspired by his older brother, and friends and fellow rappers Winkz Rippa, Boss Jay, and singer Deon Hudson, in fall of 2009, Jae Gudda returned to his first love, music, and began taking it seriously. After being featured on various mixtapes around the Mississippi Delta region, Jae Gudda released his first solo project in 2011 entitled Gudda Musik: The Beginning. The mixtape garnered positive reviews and earned Jae a cult of following fans that were all the more impressed by his knack for live performance and putting on a great show. Behind the push of strong stage presence and an unmatched work ethic, Gudda Musik spread across the Delta are making its way into the ears and hearts of listeners all too familiar with what it means to struggle. As implied by the Gudda Musik subtitle, this is the beginning for Jae Gudda and his brand.
