The rainforest was alive with all manner of sounds and smells; everywhere you turned there was something new to take in. Birds chirped high above; insects buzzed loudly in harmony; all carried by the gentle breeze that drifted through the branches. They joined together to create a sweet cacophony of sounds, like nature's own personal choir. This place belonged to them; it belonged to the trees and the plants, to the insects and the mammals, to the rivers and the springs; this was their home and, at least for now, it was untarnished by mankind.

DJ and producer REES has been making quite the storm recently with his slick take on Italo Disco and the synth-driven sounds of the 80s, whilst also flying the flag for his home of Middlesborough. Releases for Bordello A Parigi, Permanent Vacation, Internasjonal and his own Paradiso imprint have housed these sounds so far, and now he heads to Palms Trax's CWPT imprint for another batch of driving cuts. Rhythm is at the core of the four tracks on Devils Club which, once again, tip the hat to his favourite musical era through propulsive bass lines, crisp percussion and soaring synth melodies.

Craft Music's Good For Dance series continues with its second instalment and this one has been curated by none other than DJ Craft himself. Joining him are talented pals Schmoltz, Bogdan Ra, Romain FX, and Outra, also known as Joutro Mundo. These deep diggers are celebrated for their prowess in unearthing hidden gems and transforming them into dancefloor anthems and that's what they do here as each artist brings a unique flavour to the mix. Schmoltz's 'Luv The States' is a peak-time percussive disco jam, Bogdan Ra brings some slap-funk drums and glossy Italo synths and 'Tell Me Why' has crunchy drums and jagged synth stabs before a camp closer in 'Colosso'.

ReEdit and rearrangement of Moana Pozzi's "Bonita."  Pozzi was one of the true characters of Italo disco.  She was a total celebrity, who worked across multiple entertainment industries, including some more "adult" projects.  At one time in her career she made a run for president of Italy!

This superb offering from the mighty label Quintessentials, sees Glaswegian producer OOFT! (Ali Herron) mix the aptly titled track ‘Freak-E Groove (Proto House Mix)’. This chic 80’s disco moment of synthy splendour is a party piece - a fabulously fitting way to dance into the labels 10th year releasing bangers from artist all over the globe.

O0FT! expertly layers his music, with the use of echoing husky vocals breathing in at opportune times, sounding trim and crisp. Exploring the avenues of disco music, he places claps and high hats perfectly across the page whilst keeping the cowbells going along with the classy groove. The distorted sirens that build and form out of a curved synthy line subtly emerge creating a trippy mirage of sound as you move through the melody - bringing together an artist and label who understand and deliver raw deep house music every time!

Dance for Relief is a way to use our music to help raise funds for causes that we are passionate about. The third and final release in the series is a compilation of edits, remixes and secret weapons from various friends, with Volume 3 focusing on boogie and disco influenced sounds from around the world.

As before all proceeds raised from this release will go straight to Direct Relief (directrelief.org), a charity whose mission is to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies, and who are doing great work to ensure that protective gear and critical care medications get to as many health workers as possible. Their work continues to be particularly important in the midst of the current Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

Finally, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all the artists involved who have given their skills and time during a difficult period to help make this release happen, in support of a worthy cause.

"FIlter Coffee" is a heavy uptempo filter house tune that just waits patiently to be played out loud in a club. "L.O.V.E." on the other hand is a deep synth funk love tune for the early or late hours!
