Mauricio Plein A.K.A. Mauro Monterio was born in Paramaribo, Suriname and raised in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
At a young age he was listening to his father’s records; music of James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix and Buena Vista Social Club to mention a few names.
He was influenced by Soul, Funk, (Latin) Jazz, Cuba Son, Kaseko (music from Suriname), Hip Hop, Hip House, Jungle & (US, UK & Speed) Garage music and started to produce in 2001.
He produces (Latin, Tribal, Afro, Deep, Garage & Tech) House music with Passion & Pleasure.
The groove, swing, percussion, bass drum, bassline, sub-bass and of course the rhythm is very important to him.
But his preference goes out to raw, bumpy, heavy, bass driven House music.
