Two true local diggers collide on 'Hellish Plasma', an attitude-driven collaboration between Dro Carey and Pinz, released via Dro's new imprint, Braincamp Rec. The pair, known separately as providers of electronic music of a more punk-aligned-persuasion, come together to produce a track as ready for the after-hours as it is for HXC 2-step, set to grace Dro's upcoming LP.

Of the track, Dro Carey shared:

"My upcoming album has tracks with some longstanding collaborators (Cliques and Napolian), so I was thinking it would be good to also include a new creative relationship... Pinz and I had been recently working on a few demos together and this one, with the use of breaks and the structure that he put together, seemed like something that could fit the album. We bounced it back and forth through a few iterations and it ended up becoming this foreboding, energetic centrepiece for the whole project."

Pinz added:

"Hellish Plasma came together shortly after my Pinz EP - I was honoured that Dro reached out and said he liked that release. So I asked to collab and he sent me 3 sessions straight away. All of them around 9 elements. I cut them down to four elements each then added some cut up some breaks, over-proccessed and cut up that heavy bassline he left me somewhere in that long sample, and punched out some vocals. Tonally I really wanted to take whatever Dro was throwing me,I wanted to emphasise the tension and frustration I felt in the original stems. With that tension comes the stream of conscious style structure, that remained basically raw and unchanged from the first draft. Spiritually it feels like an immediate successor to the EP, but I was lucky enough to have these sound sources created by Dro that feels like it takes this track (and the others) to another level. A Pinz track that got to be cleaned up, beefed up by Dro in the mixdown and placed right in the middle of his record."

'Hellish Plasma' releases officially this Friday, March 6 via Braincamp Rec's Bandcamp, with Dro Carey's full-length record arriving on March 28.
