Two Cicero brothers got together to share our love of music to the people. When we were living together in Cicero, Chicago, we were always interested and experimenting the effects that music had on people, especially the b-boys and the b-girls. When we weren’t studying and digging for new music, we were hitting up legendary record stores such as “Dusty Grooves” in Chicago. Although we are not DJ’s, we were always close friends with the DJ’s in the scene because they provided the essential sonic vibrations. In this compilation “The Funk Is On”, we carefully chose the classic tracks that we felt were missing in today’s Jams and Parties. We let the music play from beginning to end with the track’s original tempo. We hope that this compilation will be a treat to your memory lane and bring back the funk to the scene. So without further adieu, the Cicero Brothers presents to you, The Funk Is On.
음악에 대한 사랑을 그대들에게 나눠주고자하여 시세로 브라더들이 만났다. 시카고에 흑인동네 시세로에서 살면서 우리는 음악이 사람들, 특히 비보이와 비걸들에게 어떠한 영향을 주는지 궁금해 했었다. 거의 매일 같이 디제이들과 소통을 하며 때로는 시카고의 “더스티 그루브” 같은 전설적인 레코드샵을 다니면서 새로운 음악을 찾는 여행에 떠나곤했었다. 우리가 디제이는 아니지만, 우리의 삶에 소리와 진동을 공유하는 디제이들을 존중했었고 항상 친하게 지내왔었다. The Funk Is On 에 나오는 음악들은 우리 둘이 조심스럽게 선곡한 곡들이며 믹스테잎을 많이 듣는 요즘 시대에 우리는 사람들에게 진정한 음악을 들려주고싶어서, 트랙을 첨부터 끝까지 원래 속도로 재생을 하게 하였다. 갈수록 잼이나 파티에서 많이 들을수 없는 클래식한 음악들을 들으면서 음악과 디제이에게 조금더 관심과 사랑을 갖으면 하는 바램이다. 긴말은 생략하고, 시세로 브라더들이 그대들에게 받친다, The Funk Is On.
