On August 4th, Trinidadian-American astrophysicist & saxophonist Stephon Alexander and Brooklyn electronic artist/producer Rioux are set to release their collaborative album 'Here Comes Now' on Rioux’s label imprint Connect.

During his sabbatical from Dartmouth College, Stephon Alexander spent the summer of 2012 in Brooklyn, NY where he met Rioux for the first time at a local cafe. After an engaging conversation about the relationship between music and astrophysics, the two made music that same day at Rioux’s studio. The outcome was a psychedelic afro-caribbean dance track with a spoken-word account of the creation of the universe. The song and the album it would inspire explore space, time, our place in the cosmos, and the overlooked connection between modern music and science.

Part Sun Ra, part Brian Eno, Here Comes Now employs an array of collaborators from No Wave/Bossa Nova legend Arto Lindsay, and art director Diego Cortez (Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat). The ornate, tailored productions by Rioux—a multi-instrumentalist—frame Alexander’s cerebral dub-reggae vocals and free bop saxophone performances. Through the album’s sonic narrative, Alexander and Rioux take us on a trip through the human experience and the greatest curiosities of the universe, while pushing the boundaries of contemporary music.

Renowned club-night & bass purveyors AMITY launch their record label with a monumental various artists compilation, assembling an impressive roster of sound sculptors for ‘KILLS TWO BIRDS’.

This collection of 8 tracks focuses on rhythm and precision bass movement, perfectly mirroring the energy experienced inside an AMITY night. Designed to cut through the noise and guaranteed to turn heads in the club environment, 'KILLS TWO BIRDS' embodies the spirit of low-end futurism; exploring the diverse corners of the rave spectrum and reaffirming the perpetual evolution of the UK hardcore continuum.

Champion of the bass scene Pluralist kicks off proceedings in style with his track Release, an expertly crafted percussive workout with references to Amapiano in its sound choices and encrusted with the producers’ signature alien vocal chops. Bristol experimentalist Ye Ye then follows up with Abyss Tone, a hypnotising and twisted flip of a West Coast classic. One’s to watch Dual-Monitor step up next with their infectious roller Arm Bar; effortlessly traversing between dancehall and jungle rhythms, keeping the dancer on their toes.

Sought after producer Cassius Select presents his undeniable peak-time mover TRICKNOLOGY!, a track designed to make any sound system break a sweat. Brighton sound explorer QGB takes us into the final zone with the aptly named AMITY TRAK, feeling like a cut off BOY IN DA CORNER that got lost in a different dimension. Emerging producer Elpac then treats us to a masterclass in rhythm technology with his intricately woven composition NOSaku, a twisted razor-sharp track that refuses to sit still. Mulholland picks up the tempo with compilation highlight Tiger Balm, a perfect take on futirist-jungle driven by tightly programmed percussion and highlighted with dubbed out MIA esque vocals. Saskia closes out the journey, taking the listener into a textural and mystical realm with their avant-garde meditation AFTD.

MSJY commences the dance, wrapping some deft breaks around a steamy reggaeton shell. Viiaan douses the loose dembow groove with a hypnagogic mood and chuggy bassline. Dåser maps out an itchy labyrinth of percussive electro that relentlessly mutates. Mossambi unfurls a futurist digi stepper brimming with excitable technoid energy. Octoptic indulges late 00’s dark 2-step but updated with remarkably modern sound design. Elpac and Mulholland combine to burn twisted breaks within an all-consuming rave menace. Baitface provides us with a loving throwback, an unreleased gem from 2012 fit with dub momentum and snappy snares for the headbangerz. Henzo flicks the hood up and gets nasty for a dialed-up skankstep wonder. Soreab opens his third eye with a haunted drumtastic half time chug. soltura sees us out with an icey wub finale of stirring synth-etic emotions amidst a melodic wonderland of sound.
