Aquatic Gate Zone - Act 1

The last zone we really got to start on in the project was Diluvian Desert Zone. I wanted to do something a bit different with this, both musically, and concept wise. The stage centered around a desert lake backed up behind a dam in the present, although in the past, the dam was being built, so it was a much smaller lake.  The desert was 'high desert,' (there is a lot of this in eastern California) and as such it was snowing during the level.  The time of day was sunset or sunrise, and in the futures and present, a city would be able to be seen way off in the distance. Sometimes, trains were meant to pass by in the background. Steam trains in the past, freight trains in the present, and bullet trains in the futures. It was supposed to be one of the final levels.
Musically, I went for a sound more in line with the US soundtrack for a lot of this theme, but also included elements familiar to fans of the Japanese soundtrack (personally, I love both! :D )

Since the project was never finished, I am likely to include this in Elancia Chronicles in some way. :D

Diluvian Desert Zone [Present]

Magma Monolith is another theme that was not composed for the original Nexus soundtrack. The original Magma Monolith theme was never settled on, and this is remake of a track I wrote in 2012 called "Magma." It is included in Nexus Genesis because it still fits the bill!

0D: Magma Monolith, Act 1

Beaming Bridge symbolically captures the beauty of venturing into a mysterious world. Lush textures and simple harmonies contrast against a transition to a more serious groove. Act 2 leans on the more driving aspect of the theme in anticipation of what lies ahead.

09: Beaming Bridge, Act 2

This was painful to convert to, Loops not being properly looped, FM not working, and just a lot of problems in general; However, I've got it working today, and it was probably the greatest thing today so far.

Mid2SMPS was used for this.

MEGA MAN: PERFECT BLUE - KAKUGO! (FM Cover)

Heya, here's another S3 proto track! This week it's Launch Base 1! ^o^

When I first heard this tune in the proto, I actually didn't like this tune whatsoever. The melody and countermelody both took up 2 channels each which is really wasteful. The base composition is fine though, so I reworked it to better use the Mega Drive setup and bring out how good the tune actually is!

The goal of this remixing project was to make the beta tracks sound a lot more finished than they were in the beta. To be fair to the originals, they were in a beta state however I still wanted to tackle these tracks anyway since they're full on bops! :P

For all of the S3 proto remixes, I used VOPM and SN-EMU whilst keeping strictly to the Mega Drive's limits (for compatibility's sake).
