JC (SPRFRK) is from Brooklyn, NY via Miami, FL, a dance floor diva-turned-DJ with a presence in the Brooklyn underground queer scene. He’s held a residency at Happyfun Hideaway with his “Sick’ning Fridays” happy hour since 2020. Outside of that, you can usually find him dancing the night away at some function in Brooklyn or at home with his partner and cat. He hopes to continue collaborating with DJs and artists and bring extra flavor with his diverse and eclectic sound to many more dance floors in NYC.

We are thrilled to welcome the newest member of our Deep South family, Wild Cherry. @wildcherry303 

Born & raised just outside of LA, Wild got his start in DJ’ing early on, first playing for friends and family at house parties when he was just 12. After moving to DC at 18, his queer identity unfolded as he thrust himself into the city’s vibrant underground scene. With an existing love for music and a newfound taste for house and techno, he applied his prior knowledge and passion for the craft to explore new realms of sound. 

Crucial and repeated dance-floor epiphanies led him to the realization that music is his path towards happiness. He feels sonic messages on a molecular level - an undeniable communication with a deeper source. Wild does not take his responsibility as a DJ lightly; he understands his role as a conduit to help catalyze the potential energy of the collective masses.

His unwavering connection to the music transcends genres, though he has a particular affinity for hard-driving grooves, acid house, and the expansive sounds of old-school and new-age techno. He’s been blessed to play at parties across the country, including Flower Factory, SLEAZE, Rainbow Rave, SXSTEM, Sunday Service & more. 

Wild recently discovered their true home in Atlanta. Throughout their journey, they’ve found a wide-reaching community that resonates with their vision of queer joy, celebration, and empowerment. Deep South is beyond excited to welcome Wild Cherry into our family, as we share the same belief in the power of music to lift our community up.

This mix is a live recording of an opening hour set done for a Pride party at the Heretic, a club in Atlanta. It encapsulates my preferred style: live, raw & direct, and includes a range of sounds I like to play with, from playful house to deep acidic grooves. This mix is infused with many tracks from friends and people who continually inspire me to keep turning it higher & higher. When listening, I hope to transport you to the heart of Atlanta's dance floors. Rather than focusing on the polished perfection, this mix is about the genuine energy felt on sacred dance-floors and the ephemeral feeling of being in communication with the divine while twirling under a disco ball.
