Double Stars; often orbiting in tandem and gravitationally bound together, are usually mistaken as a singular light. An unmistakable parallel to the Space Cadets, Leeds trail blazers Lisene and Adam Pits join in magnetic union for Planet Euphorique’s big 1-5 to showcase their sole vision; superior prog synergy. Warp Drive gets flung into hyperdrive by your local enigma Rudolf C and the B side is a case of nuclear audio fission, splitting the duo so their individual and technical flair can shine. No doubt you’ve crossed paths with something hot on this disc in the encompassing party atmosphere; four straight up essentials for a function of chaos. 

The title track breaks in the EP with frisky righteous drums, precision in rhythm; swinging stylishly. Cosmos loom within reach, infinite rolling with baselines built for the long haul; an expertise in tension and release revealed through sonic sweeps and delicate filter explorations. A match made in heaven, Rudolf C has been gliding on similar trajectories; elevating the Warp Drive to a celestial level; the Psychedelic Envisionment accentuating the original's intricacies whilst maintaining the swagged flow and dancefloor steeze. Distorted pulsations and modulations swirl above head to signal the B side split show; driving bass anchoring the higher frequency expeditions, Lisene mastering the spectrum of sounds with Moral Panic and breaking up the 4/4 pursuit. Meanwhile Adam Pits closes things out with an ethereal highway drive; cruising, twinkling and boasting telescopic trance like skills. 

A perfectly balanced blend of modern, innovative and familiar, veteran status technological slick hits; you’re in good hands.

Joining the prog-parade full steam ahead, the 3 tracker dabbles in tech trance activity with a bonus remix from Berlin’s backbone Mor Elian. The enigmatic newcomer showcases mature structural bliss, crafted for moments of subconscious synchronicity between the DJ and their dancers.

The B Side stands alone tall and proud; Larp feels like a climax at the party. Holly Lester’s Duality Trax Label has quickly become synonymous for its blend of future facing sonics and mind-warping melodies, served together with a healthy dose of nostalgia. A label just as focused on making dancefloor destroyers as it is exploring left-leaning, personal projects, it’s within this duality where the label has found its success, never afraid to shy away from b side oddities or tracks edging more towards good-old-fashioned-fun.

DUALITY5 steers towards the latter, with Manchester based DJ & producer Aiden Francis providing the serotonin on tap with three lively dancefloor cuts, including a huge remix from Italy’s Matisa. Aiden had a big 2022, releasing music on Magic Carpet, Gestalt and beloved music platform and label Houseum, solidifying himself as one to watch in the euphoric unity of house, trance and techno.

Title track ‘Plastic Fantasy’ is the star of the show, a suitably sassy roller that places everyone's favorite blonde icon front left of the speakers. Subtle old school strings contrast with alien electronics, providing familiarity in an otherwise unfamiliar world. A bubble-gum vocal then rolls in cheekily over a driving bassline and dynamic percussion  - used in a way I’m not sure the original creators had in mind. ‘Future Proof’ meanwhile demonstrates Aidens’ knack for contemporary progressive house music. With warm pads, swirling sonic textures and moments of blissful euphoria, it’s energetic enough to move a dancefloor, but gentle enough for home listening too.

The record comes to a close with ‘Aquamarine’, with Aiden opting in favour of free flowing breakbeats and mind expanding synths, together radiating a feeling of warmth and hope for days to come. Italian DJ and producer Matisa is on hand to round the EP off with a bass-heavy rendition of ‘Plastic Fantasy’ a no-holds-barred speed garage licked stomper, with the power to lure smokers back inside the club with their feet firmly planted on the dancefloor.

In the space of a short career, Aussie producer suki has managed to successfully carve out a space for his inimitable extra-terrestrial concoctions. 

Listening to Photosynthesis EP is like a party on the moon, with giddy old school rave styles reimagined in a cosmic context. Beginning with some gnarly acid house, it soon becomes breaks which on the B-side morphs into trance and super-slowed breakbeat. Texture takes centre stage, each blip tempting to the touch, and fun and playfulness
shine through.

Twominds Records third venture comes in the form of their first various artists compilation; Tastemakers. The four-track release features artists from across Australasia, Jesper Tjarnfors, Ritmiq, Corners and Pang.

Jesper Tjarnfors Blue Ambo is the fast paced A1 track of the release. It features glitchy vocal effects, light hats and a rolling acid baseline. Huge dubbed out stabs elevate the track from the mid way point.

Ritmiq’s uaintnorealhustler slides in as the A2. A heavy sub bass pushes the track through lush chords and a subtle acid line. A hip hop influenced vocal sample is drizzled throughout the track accompanied by swinging percussion.

Label head Corners takes the B1 with Halcyon. The track is heavily influenced by early 2000’s tech house - think a simple baseline, repetitive stabs and chopped up vocals. The second half of the track sees a variety of synth lines feature to keep the dance floor guessing.

Pang completes the equation with Who you? This minimal styled track doesn’t overdo it, maintaining a laid back feel based around light and playful percussion. A neat, bouncy baseline and swirling pads expertly combine, and a classic vocal sample is the final cherry on top of an otherwise sturdy groove.

Augusto Taito is undoubtedly one of the artists we always release with great pleasure, also because it is one of our best discoveries. Born in Buenos Aires and actually based in Amsterdam, with a large number of releases behind him since the beginning of 2017, on labels of the caliber of Dynamic Reflection, Mindtrip, Edit Select, Suara, Children of Tomorrow, Illegal Alien, Emerald, ANAOH, Methodical, KSR just to name a few, already at the beginning of 2020 made his debut on [R]3volution Records with 'Mutual Premonition EP', in 2021 he participated with his remix of 'Ancestral' in Vol.2 of 'Michele Mausi R3mixes EP' and in 2022 it is part of the vinyl VA [R]3volution Heroes Vol.2 with the track 'Interdimensional Deja Vu', which in this new EP is re-proposed in 5 super remixes curated by one of our top artists Dave Wincent, who certainly doesn't need of presentations, 3 pure emerging talents from the [R]3volution Uncod3d Roster who debut on [R]3volution Records such as Dani Durán, Playmo, Toobris and the label owner Michele Mausi. In April the EP released a new track, the title track 'Brakjam Key. Another release that will certainly leave its mark on dance floors across the planet for the next few months...
