Down to the track titles, Autumns conveys his cynicism and dark humor in every aspect of this EP.

The "Retrofuturism EP" by Zobol is a release that looks back nostalgically while also looking ahead, invoking bygone visions of the future. It includes five unique tracks that vary from lively and vigorous to tranquil and reflective. Each piece is a narrative voyage, delving into various facets of Electro and Braindance. Created with a blend of analog and digital equipment and augmented by contemporary production methods, it embodies the essence of Retrofuturism. The outcome is a collection of warm, wistful soundscapes that bridge the past and the future.

SES1 set out what quality electro means for Shipwrec. The first in the series brought together six musicians from far and wide, musicians who journey through the colder edge of their analogue instruments with a clear ear for the floor. SES2 starts where its predecessor left off. The genre bending Ian Martin opens with the frigid funk of “Hyperstatic Transformation.” Stripped back, the track is bare in terms of its elements. Despite such meagre ingredients, Martin concocts an engaging and rich work of darkened grooves and sinister undercurrents. o-0._.0-o is the playful pseudonym of acid freetekno enthusiast Owen. His contribution, “Acidrobotik”, releases a free and wandering 303 lines that forges a bubbling path through crisp percussion. The flip brings an artist better known for his work in techno. Cliche Morph delves into the clinical side of his palette and emerges with the stunning “Placebo.” Balancing alienated and arctic blasts with a thawing warmth, the outcome is pure classic electro. A rising star of machine music follows, Fleck E.S.C. A dirty bassline is further sullied by layers of gritty distortion and glitched vocals in this re-wired work of ghetto. A legend of electronics closes, Kirill Junolainen. Under his lauded Konerytmi moniker, this synthesiser shapeshifter delivers “Kuva Alkio.” Stuttering bass and tight drums are the foundation from which sci-fi inspirations take hold, sailing strings tethered by a terse snare as SES2 is brought to a triumphal close.

Qwerty - Jadran EP [Polyend Records // PR007]

The 'Jadran EP' was predominantly constructed by the sea, using solely Polyend Tracker Mini portable audio workstation, next to the remains of the destroyed Haludovo beach resort on Krk Island in the Adriatic, hence the title. Mini was the perfect beach companion for capturing the vibes and waves of the sunny surroundings and flowing them into the tones and patterns of the songs. The last track is yet another collaboration with his longtime companion EDMX, created separately in a studio on the British Isles, and it's the only track which incorporates ‘external’ gear, including the exclusive Opal Drum Computor. Tracks drift between the genres, ranging from playful house and breaky bleeps to placid electro and dreamwave.
