They also run the record store Smallville in their hometown and take care of a record company of the same name, releasing house music full of references to the genres rich history. For Carhartt Radio they have put together a show featuring tracks by artists such as Move D, Lowtec, STL, Lawrence, Moomin, and Steve Tang. A thrilling mix that represents the labels trademark ageless house that admires subtle, evolving melodies.

Vinyl artifacts intact, set includes one record that was stepped on at the first NWB. Set begins with Carlos mixing in the AFX's "Elephant Song" over BMG playing the unreleased Shake Remix of Alpha 606.

Carhartt WIP Radio travels north and pays a visit to a basement vault in the heart of Stockholm, the home of Studio Barnhus. Since its launch in 2009 Studio Barnhus has grown into something more than just a normal label and studio. It is foremost a social place where friends Axel Boman, Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist hang out, run a bohemian label and play music while having lots of fun. Petter released two acclaimed EPs in the mid-noughties on James Holden's label, Border Community. Kornél Kovács is known as the presenter of Sweden's most popular radio show for electronic music, P3 Dans and Axel Boman has just released his first solo album "Family Vacation" - a sound trip that goes beyond club rhythms with a lot of musical sense. For Carhartt Radio the three held a B2B2B DJ session that dives deep into their label catalogue while melting some older hits with yet unreleased tracks.

Joey Anderson from NYC first surfaced on our radar from his track Oval provided on Dj Qu’s Strength Music imprint back in 2008 for the Exchange Place Cold Case Files EP. Joey has now started to push out releases on his own label Inimeg Recordings which see  releases guided by the stars and constellations at night as the labels inspiration comes from the Gemini star sign spelt backward. More recently the first release on Joey’s 2011 Inimeg Recordings release Organisms featuring Joey himself and Dj Qu pushing that intricate drum programming, subtle mood changes and details that align and traverse like shooting stars and stripes made out in the sky has been captured by many and represented in many online reviews ,Dj charts, mixes, blogs and further

Following in the wake of other like-minded East Coast producers like Levon Vincent, Anthony Parasole and Fred P, Joey Anderson is the latest offering in a fresh load of artists hailing from New York. Like his predecessors the American reached a wider audience at a relatively late age, and also like those before him, Anderson can do a lot with very little. The art of omission is mastered by this techno stalwart, who quickly became a Dekmantel family member by both performing at our events and releasing an impressive album on Dekmantel Records.

This 12th instalment to the Dekmantel podcast series sees a beautifully build up mix. As Joey proofed at his Panoramabar set in March, he warms up a crowd like no other. This mix starts of with some deeper tracks, examplarery for the New York sound Joey represents. Towards the end the podcast becomes more techno and features “1974” from his latest EP on the Dekmantel label.
