Leading the pack of US artists that have adopted the more restrained UK approach to house is Aaron Jackson. His tunes have all the low-end heft of mainstream electro, but with a sense of subtlety that allows the groove to speak for itself. For his Discovery Project Release, the Oregon-based producer has enlisted Megan Hamilton to lend sultry vocals that layer beautifully over the soulful organ breakdowns. The bassline is thick, with some clear attention paid to dynamics, and the shuffle in the drums gives it an undeniably funky swing.

You may have seen the lead track ‘Party Time’ popping up here and there with Justin Martin championing it across the US. Blips Bloops, Whoops and super thick bass all topped off with squeaky resonance to attack the deepest part of your psyche.

‘Thinking Bout You’ takes a few steps back into warp mode with a much moodier take on the Westend sound. ‘Out Of My Head’ is a serious dance floor destroyer. Think 5am, a few too many and a gas pedal all the way down. We suggest you dont slow down..
