Alright, here they are: our TOP 20 of the Chymera "Fathoms" remix competition in cooperation with Juno Download. We received many remixes and it was not an easy task to whittle them down to only 20. 

The overall quality level was high and inevitably there are remixes we didn't choose which maybe also deserved to be a part of the selection. However, we tried to remain as objective as possible. 

The following criteria were important to us: Creative use of the parts, technical skills, general feeling and in the end, personal taste. Furthermore we tried to find a balance between remixes which stayed close, but with a unique twist to the original, and versions which developed in another direction. 

Afterall we are very happy with our Top 20 now and we hope you like them as much we do. 

We would like to say a big thank you to all participants for their submissions and we hope you had fun working with the parts. 

PLEASE KEEP YOU REMIX PRIVATE UNTIL WE HAVE CHOSEN OUR FINAL WINNERS. AFTERWARDS YOU ARE ALLOWED TO PRESENT YOUR REMIX ON YOUR SOUNDCLOUD PROFILE.

This year’s label-compilation thematically revolves all about the rise up from the generic. It is about young talented artists who are still struggling on their way up and are out there to make a name for themselves.

The Kölner Geklöppel continues: After Superpitcher, Rebolledo and Lena Willikens infected Roof.fm with the spirit of Cologne and beyond, Daniel Ansorge turns in one and a half hours of techno bliss. You will remember Barnt from "Geffen", the "unhinged track where odd noises and squeaks made you want to spray WD-40 on the creaky beat." (Resident Advisor). Barnt's unique blend of post minimal and post kosmische have indeed made him a German champion on the leftfield techno circuit. Für die Ewigwachgebliebenen zum Feierabendbier, für die Frühaufsteher als Seelenfutter zum Wochenbeginn: Montagssorbet mit Laut & Luise. Alles erlaubt, was gut tut und Gedanken kreisen lässt, nur der Name ist Programm: cremig, fluffig und ganz schön weich.

Frisch klabaustert in der Perle des Nordens lässt Hobbytaucher @mmmaaaeeesss tief in die Schublade gesammelter Perligkeiten blicken. Frisch gepuhlt wird satt verperlt am roten Faden der einzelnes Kleinod zum großen Schmuckstück werden lässt. Heute kommt die Kette halt mal ins Ohr.

Ateq-ის დისკოგრაფია 2011 წელს,  Giegling-ზე გამოსული Res EP-ით იწყება. ამ ლეიბლს ეკუთვნის მისი მომდევნო რელიზებიც. Ateq-ის ტრეკები და სეტები პირდაპირ დაკავშირებულია Giegling-ის კოლექტივის გამორჩეული და დასამახსოვრებელი საუნდის ჩამოყალიბებასთან. Ateq-ის ჟღერადობა  მელანქოლიურია და წარმოადგენს დაბის, მინიმალ ტექნოს და ჰაუსის სინთეზს.

Ateq: German Producer and Dj, who is one of the key members of today’s most special and interesting label by many opinions. Ateq’s first release for Giegling came out in 2011, an EP named “Res” and the imprint has been his only platform since then. His productions and sets are directly connected to forming the Giegling crew’s unique and memorable sounds. Minimal and melancholic vibes in Ateq’s music is a synthesis of dub, techno and house.

The music Aurora Halal creates is informed by many different disciplines. She is a producer, but also a videographer and visual artist who has worked on films about modular synth godfather Morton Subotnick amongst others. She is also the force behind Brooklyn’s Mutual Dreaming party series as well as the Sustain-Release festival. In just a couple of years she has cooked up an expressive and experimental techno sound—solo and with the likes of Ital—on labels such as Lovers Rock and her own Mutal Dreaming Recordings. Oppressive and foggy, her distorted, imperfect sounds made up of heavy drums and scurrying synths have taken her to plenty of remarkable live gigs all over the world. Now she steps up to our mix series with equal aplomb.
