The long-awaited first official LP from Michigan-based producer Sango, North, will release digitally on Soulection July 23, 2013 with vinyl to follow. 

Sango’s North brings forth a new sound, one that pulls from soul, rnb, future bass, hip hop and broken beat fusing them together with seamless vocals chops and grooves. North features collaborations from a diverse group of artists like Australia’s Ta-ku, cinematic downtempo producer Atu, nu-soul singer JMSN, story-telling rapper WALDO, newcomer vocalist Brea and Dpat who produced ‘Remember You’ for Wiz Khalifa and The Weeknd. 

Following major worldwide support for his refixes, EP’s and beat tapes from the likes of Brownswood’s Gilles Peterson, KCRW’s Aaron Byrd, and Noisey (VICE) to name a few, Sango is poised to elevate the definition of what “future” music is. 

10+ casual releases later, North combines the best of Sango over the last few years into one seamless musical journey. North is a love story of two people, on a journey, who find better things in themselves when they are with each other. North in Hebrew as noted visually in the album art [that Sango designed himself], representing a sense of “heaven” or “glory” are symbolic to Sango, as he sees everything he does an artist for the greater glory, the greater good, as something bigger than himself.

This has been a very interesting and strange year for us as a whole. Full of ups and downs, to dealing with mona lisa smiles, to learning how this industry works, it's all a learning experience. We’re not here for the industry stuff, we’re here for the music. We appreciate everyone of our supporters and we thank you for riding with us. For the past 8 months i was quietly dealing with a deep depression. a depression that i pushed away at for so long. When i was young, i dealt with verbal and emotional abuse from people very close to me, but it wasn't until i was older i realized how it had grown and morphed into insecurities, psyche, and emotional issues. Before i could come around to addressing the issues of even realizing HOW to, i froze. I couldn’t handle it and I just stopped everything. Always feeling i wasn't good enough, constant doubt, constantly feeling as if everything i cared about didn't fill the holes they used to and things got dark, monotonous, and nonprogressive. To the point where friends could hardly reach out to me. To the point where i would just go days without eating, or sleeping. Honestly i wouldn't have been posting this if it wasn't for the love of friends who helped to keep me strong, but it wasn't just them that got me through. It was you. The people who dm me to tell me that i inspire them; the people i've never met but still drove 3 hours to come and see my first performance; even the people who simply give me a chance. I appreciate you ALL. You guys do so much for me that i feel that i never get the chance to tell you guys how much you mean to me. Music is all that i do with my life, so its a very serious to me to see how i connect with others. I hope that this song helps someone who has been here before and if you ever need someone. I gotchu. Thank you.
