This lil' baby mix was born on January 8th as we celebrated our first Flammable Sundays at our new venue, Chop Suey in Seattle, WA. Most of the residents were in attendance so we played shorter sets, and I am real proud of how this one turned out. Comment on your favorite moments in the mix and enjoy!

Midnight in a Perfect World KEXP

Hyasynth, also known as Karen Baskett, is a Seattle-based DJ who fell in love with house music as a club dancer attending raves in college. She learned how to mix records once she moved to Manhattan in 2000, began getting her own gigs and establishing her deep, soulful, disco-influenced sound in NYC clubs, then she moved to Seattle in 2004 where she started an all-female group called Grace Sessions with Erin O’Connor-Drew at See Sound Lounge. 
 
Over the years Hyasynth has been a member of the De La Creme and Bottom Forty crews, she frequently plays Seattle clubs as a special guest with other crews, her mixes have been featured on radio stations such as KEXP, 107.7 theEnd, and 89.5, and she is the newest resident DJ with Flammable Sundays at Chop Suey, the longest running weekly house party on the west coast. 
 
Professionally she is a dancer and dance instructor, so rhythm and musical timing are innate. Hyasynth is known for her energetic and passionate performances that are sure to get you moving! She is invigorated by the sense of community found on a dancefloor and enjoys sharing her favorite music with others. Catch her sets when you can!
