LIVE SET recorded at the Orient Express in Seattle, WA in September of 2018 for another epic edition of the Train Car House Party. I didn't know they were recording when I was playing, so this was truly a special set to capture.TCHP was a free monthly party that happened for 13 years straight (even through Covid!) in Seattle's underground house music scene led by the legendary @Erin O'Connor-Drew. I feel honored to be one of the DJs who kept getting invited back time and time again to rock those train cars off the rails (and eat all those yummy cupcakes). Long live @Train Car House Party!!

Hyasynth, also known as Karen Baskett, is a Belize-based DJ who fell in love with house music as a club dancer attending raves in college. She learned how to mix records once she moved to Manhattan in 2000, began getting her own gigs and establishing her deep, soulful, disco-influenced sound in NYC clubs, then she moved to Seattle in 2004 where she started an all-female group called Grace Sessions with Erin O’Connor-Drew at See Sound Lounge. 
 
Over the years Hyasynth has been a member of the De La Creme and Bottom Forty crews, she frequently plays Seattle clubs as a special guest with other crews, her mixes have been featured on radio stations such as KEXP, 107.7 theEnd, and 89.5, and she is the newest resident DJ with Flammable Sundays at Chop Suey, the longest running weekly house party on the west coast. 
 
Professionally she recently retired as a performer and dance instructor, so rhythm and musical timing are innate. Now Karen is a Certified Ayurveda, Yoga + Sound Practitioner who uses house music to help in the healing process. She is the founder of the AHA Life Lab, a wellness studio in Placencia, Belize. 

Hyasynth is known for her energetic and passionate performances that are sure to lift your spirits and get you moving! She is invigorated by the sense of community found on a dancefloor and enjoys sharing her favorite music with others. Catch her joyful sets when you can!
