Hybrid Minds are on a roll right now. Even while gearing up for their much-anticipated four-week residency at Phonox in London with their Outline brand, a summer of festivals and coming straight off the back of a full-scale UK tour, they've found time to bless us with a brand new slice of liquid beauty.

This is  'Jetstream'.

Of course, one of Hybrid Minds' key powers is their unerring ability to select amazing talents to work with. This time, it's Thomas Oliver – who the D&B-faithful know from link-ups with the likes of Logistics and Bcee – that steps up for a soul-scorching performance. As co-writer of the track as well as providing vocals and guitar for Hybrid Minds to work their studio science make this a true artistic collaboration.

The low-fi ambiance in the intro provides a counterpoint to Thomas's Motown-flavoured melodies, with subtle touches of guitar following along behind. We're drawn inexorably towards a drop which is made of pure, joyful, sunlight. The hopeful, uplifting lyrics are given force and power by precision-tooled, rolling drums and pulsing bass tones while harmonic strings dance across the top.

This kind of tune is the reason why Hybrid Minds are held in such high regard by fans of soulful drum & bass everywhere. Essential.
