Since the launch of their exciting new solo imprint, Hybrid Theory have been on somewhat of a tearout, smashing together the label’s first two official releases with a collection of absolute firecrackers. They are back to business straight away however as they ready up to unveil HT003, featuring another pair of original heaters.  

 

When discussing Hybrid Theory, the word consistency seems to pop up on a pretty regular basis and it is completely valid. Through a combination of their own releases and work behind the scenes at Four40 Records, the duo have been on an incredibly vibrant run.  

 

They continue that on this new release’s A-side, with a track entitled ‘Make It Drip’. This one is most certainly one for the ravers as the Hybrid Theory sound is extended to a more American-influenced take on UK bass music, with this one focussing on bouncy rolling kick drums and sweeping moogy sub tones, topped off with a selection of catchy vocal slices.  

 

The B-side for this one provides us with a fantastic box of energy, as ‘Rekki Dub’ is unleashed. This one takes a very different approach, honing in on a very up-to-date UK bassline sound. From the shuffling drum selections to the explosive synthesizer slaps of the lead bass instrument, this one is a serious party starter, make no mistake about that!

Hybrid Theory are a DJ and Production duo from the cultural hub of the midlands, Birmingham. They have been blazing the UK Bass scene in style since they started now infamous Four40 imprint in 2010.

These guys have taken the UKBass scene by storm with their duty ghost warps, snappy saw’s and the heavy broken beat patten is the winning combination for these guys.

For the Hybrid boys appearances on Diplo's Mad Decent and Norman Cook's Southern Fried Records followed cementing their foothold in the scene as tastemakers in high demand. The guys were most notable so far seeing the release of their much anticipated EP on Champion's genre-bending Formula Records. In 2015 brand new releases will drop first on Jakwob's Boomting Recordings, These guys have a foothold in the music seen now collaborating with some of the top artists in the world. The collaboration with Stanton Warriors had a huge effect on the American breaks music scene, witch lead the guy’s to a 5 state American tour from LA to New York. Not to mention traveling across Europe, to destinations like Germany, Sweeden, Amsterdam, Belguim, Italy, plus many more.

If this kind of output wasn't enough Hybrid have been working tirelessly on preparations for a host of Guest-mixes for BBC Radio 1 and 1xtra following enthusiastic support on the BBC, RINSE FM and KISS, from the likes of Monki, DJ Target, MistaJam, Sian Anderson, Annie Nightingale, TODDLA-T and more (Not to mention other scene heavyweights like DIPLO, ETON MESSY, DJ EZ and ONEMAN)
