Benjamin Walsh, the drummer from Australian electronic legends THE BIRD, is releasing his debut solo album ‘Remix Experiment’ on Friday September 8th through Hydrofunk Records. His first solo release coincides with the 20-year anniversary of Hydrofunk Records, and will be released digitally worldwide, and will also be available on vinyl.

Benjamin Walsh is a world-renowned percussionist and is legendary for his ability to adapt and fuse styles, creating and reinventing approaches to traditional formulas of rhythm and sound.  He has been the driving force behind many innovative and ground-breaking musical projects and partnerships over the last twenty years - most notably as the brain-child of electronic live fusion sensation; THE BIRD, a musical project which morphed from an innovative duo into a multi-instrumental musician's collaborative. 

On his debut, solo album ‘Remix Experiment’ he designed a system to control his machines using his voice and drumsticks while drumming, with every take on the album using a different drum kit setup, often incorporating homemade drums, cymbals and junk items to push his sound further.  Each track is a live take and references something different, but the one thing bringing it all together is Ben's masterful, progressive drumming.
