Well it's that time of year again, it's the 1st RIOT Radio Show of a new year and as always it's the squelchier the better acid show in honor of RIOTeer #1 Paul Burke whereby nowt played is anything but the most bestest squelchy infused 303 tunes carefully selected for optimum SQUELCH.

Each year we've had amazing strictly acid sets by even more amazing guests including Mark Archer, Jerome Hill, Trevor Wilkes, Dave Tarrida, Chris Nez and DJ ARG. Who will be crowned acid king this round?

HYPERCAST #002 - David Asko

After more than 25 years of electronic activism, David Asko has become one of the pillars of the French techno scene. He has been one of the most fervent defenders of the club and electronic scene during the health crisis, uniting around him many actors of the scene and speaking out to support a whole cultural (and economic) part of our society.
Resident of Magazine Club in Lille, 1988 Live Club in Rennes and Rex Club in Paris, he played at many clubs all over the world in order to impose an industrial techno rave without any concessions.

Founding father and artistic director of the TBM (Techno Body Music) parties that travel throughout France, he gives free rein to his unbridled personal imagination, giving a prominent place to a muscular techno in a BDSM universe with a trashy aesthetic.

As a producer, his tracks Techno Therapy, Acid Citric and Die Raving have been played by the greatest DJs around the globe contributing to his international reputation.

RIC49`s roots lay in house music, while today he mostly plays intuitiv, fun and vibrant Techno or Breakbeat Sets. He loves to interact with the crowd and is known for giving them exactly what they long for: bold and high energetic choices behind the decks.
His style of music stands out due to his love for fast tracks combined with loads of pop cultural influences. Over the last six years he became a core member of disorder: fast and nice and is deeply connected to Viennas underground scene.

Presenting our first resident dj duo Rhythmusgruppe_B:
Ron & Marco aka Rhythmusgruppe_B are a DJ duo from NRW and part of the scene for years of clubbing. To express their passion they've started mixing to realize their own vision of rave. They are driven by fun and joy. Well, after over four years mixing in private, the duo is now making their public debut at HYPERRAVE. Stylistically playing genres like Acid & Detroit Techno and House, as well as Warehouse Techno to faster and harder Techno tracks.

HYPERCAST #003 - mojo 
Our second resident in the lineup:
Born in the Pott and raised in a small town near Holland. Jonny 
grew up listening to old school hiphop most of the time. He was 
fascinated by Dr. Dre and Grandmaster Flash and got his hands on 
a pair of Technics 1200. He started collecting vinyls but switched 
to a timecode system, for trying out first mixing techniques. 
During a year abroad in Barcelona he dived deeply into Electronic 
Music. There he got to know real Jungle Raves and fell in love with 
the amen break. After moving to cologne he continued with mixing 
music and played deep Drum and Bass combined with Jungle at 
several Clubs, such as Artheater, Heinz Gaul, Odonien or Helios.
During the pandemic he used the time to explore even more 
genres and their own cultural heritage. The amen break never really 
left his side and he added Genres like Breakbeat, Electro, Detroit 
Techno, Acid, House and Ghetto Tech to his collection. With the 
help of Ableton and some hardware gear he wants to combine all 
of this different musical influences into his very own project called: Mojo

HYPERCAST #005 - Umami Sound //Resident

Next resident:
Umami Sound, originally from Mönchengladbach, Germany has returned from the misty island of the United Kingdom, his bag fully loaded with banging tunes. During his time there he was heavily impacted by the sound of the local club and rave culture. Due to his involvement in several intimate party projects he has gained significant expertise and passion for the UK´s sound and wants to further explore it within the realms of the Cologne rave scene. He is eager to share his love and passion for the various styles he has committed to over the years. 
Growing up, Felix was always fascinated by music and electronic music in particular which ultimately led to him studying Music Technology in the UK. During his studies he fell in love with jungle, breaks, electro and 140/2Step styled beats. After leaving the UK he felt like he wanted to create a space for a less “Techno-centric” sound within the German/ European scene. A label for unique, forward thinking yet timeless music styles. After getting together with like minded music headz and friends that shared his vision, HyperRave was born. 
All sick and tired of elitist rave culture and bullshit. 
HyperRave is a passion project from music headz for music lovers and enthusiasts with a clear vision in mind: Bringing back some almost forgotten and neglected styles that build the foundation that we now walk on, cherishing the work of true pioneers and legends in their respective field.

EXIX is a fresh techno producer hailing from Germany, who has been delivering solid rave material since the end of 2021 and making a name for himself in the scene. The wide and diverse techno vision he has reflects itself both in his tracks and mixes, in which you are very likely to find the driving force you are looking for. Powerful, fast, uncompromising; but still sensitive and melancholic. That might be the most compressed and suitable summary of his sound.  

Alongside his music career, EXIX is still an active PhD student and researching about machine learning implementations in physics and chemistry. Although these two completely different lives sometimes lead to confusions and conflicts, he believes that this constant ambivalence resembles his artistic perception: keeping it hard, but always with some sort of a sentimentalism. EXIX is Disruptor 068....enjoy.
