On this weeks edition of Hypercore:url we have our parisian queen of bass music @l_mafille! Her project blends dubstep, drum’n’bass, leftfield bass, and breaks while weaving unexpected bridges to all kinds of club music, always driven by the desire to surprise and, above all, to tear it all down! In this set she is reflecting on what the futurist manifesto ‘The Art of Noises’ by Russolo evokes for her, even including a few spoken passages woven into the experimental dubstep, techno, and drum’n’bass selection. Russolo’s essay on music examines the human being’s natural inclination toward musical and sonic novelty and why this quest can only be fully satisfied by integrating new technologies into compositions.

This programme comprises Side A and Side B, reflecting their triple identity. Side A, titled ‘AURE: ADEAD U RUIN EVERYTHING’, features a reworked version of their 2022 DJ set from China's legendary Club Galame, blended with newly sourced ‘destructive’ tracks from across the globe. This mix serves as an outpouring of their most vulnerable and powerless selves, offering a defiantly negative rebellion against the world.

ADEAD are pioneers of emo bass, employing apocalyptic deconstruction techniques to subvert club music and its subgenres. They aim to spearhead its reinvention. Hailing from Guangdong Province, they are among the region's most prolific producers and DJs, having released music on labels such as @bio-future-lab, @postworldmusic, @noctm, @absurd-creation, @jyugamlabel, Daftpop Sounds, @zaaang_glassbystander, @doubletakerecords and @seippelabel.
