Andrew Juke is Canada's best kept secret. Having been making multi-genre music for years, Andrew Juke is no stranger to putting out bangers.
Taking inspiration from old skool hardcore, happy hardcore, jump up and juke (among others); Andrew juke utilises sampling, ear tearing acid basslines, bouncy energy and relentless pace to make music suitable for any domain.

Machina 001 is the first release from the Fort Worth, Texas label Body Motion, the distributing arm of long-running techno collective @beverlyhillscowboy. Packed with enough groove to keep the dancefloor going all night- something that the wildly popular Beverly Hills Cowboy parties are known for.

All proceeds of the release of Machina 001 will go to the opening and operation of the record's namesake club, Machina, which BHC hopes to have fully functional in time for the hot Texas Spring. 

Fort Worth native @clubcab joins the group on this release, and he's brought with him pummeling loops and a vocal straight out of Miami. "If U Thick" wastes no time in showing dancers what dirty South techno is all about.

Fractions - Control

Fractions eschew biographical identity in their debut release for Berlin’s FLEISCH records. A potent mix of EBM, techno, breakbeat, electro, acid and horror-soundtrack provides only a title, ‘Control’, S&M leaning artwork that seems to reference Dali’s ‘In Voluptas Mors’ and a one-line manifesto: MAKE DEAD DANCE.

True to these words, established formalities are cast aside as the record
begins without ceremony; barrel-reverb percussion strikes, a hard hitting straight snare and vinyl crackle ambience set the tone; once the 4/4 kick hits, the basis of ‘Control’ is established. The first four tracks explore EBM, new-beat and acid within the 120-125bpm spectrum, horror-sci-fi pads weave between razor sharp arpeggiations, distorted 303 squelch emerges from doomsday sirens and in the vocal sample taken from the title track, a single, ominous voice urges the
listener to ‘control your mind’.

The final two tracks explore more broken, stepping rhythms, the
extended middle section of ‘Celestial’ transitions from pads that wouldn’t sound out of place in Aphex Twin’s ambient works into a cold John Carpenter-esque piano loop; the final track ‘Inhale/Exhale’ picks up the tempo but focuses on a slowly building frenzy of percussion and arpeggiation, with a snare drum that gradually gathers intensity as the track progresses, tying the swarming rhythm together and closing the record with the anticipation of a drop that never
manifests.

For a debut EP, Fraction’s ‘Control’ shows a markedly developed voice in tying together genres under a haze of dance-floor gloom.
