Soleil Rouge introduit Premier Rayon. Une compilation réunissant artistes présentés et artistes à venir. Depuis 2020, Soleil Rouge se caractérise par la rencontre d’esprits souhaitant penser et partager des espaces de création sincères et sensibles au regard des bouleversements que nous connaissons. Premier Rayon résulte de la première édition de Paturia. Un séjour en communauté s’établissant à Mazirat (03), ayant pour cœur la découverte et la promotion d’arts musicaux et visuels.

Having a Libyan mother and a Syrian father, Bader spent his youth between Benghazi & Damascus. He grew up listening to Libyan Tagaza Majrouda rhythms and Syrian classical music. His brother DJ Khalil was one of the pioneers in the MENA region who fused his musical heritage with hip hop beats. As a youth Bader was always passionate about art, especially visual arts. When Bader moved to Belgium he studied photography and became a videographer and visual artist, working for numerous artists & brands. Through his work as a digital content creator for Voem, he started curating Yalla World wide events in Ghent; bringing the cream of the crop of the alternative MENA music scene to Belgium: artists as 3Phaz, Toumba, Muskila, Cheb Runner, Asifeh, Renata and Big Murk. At the same time Bader started dj’ing and producing music with Yalla Soundsystem together with his colleague Acid Ponch. His sound can be described as a symbiose between east and west: bass heavy patterns merge with his own musical heritage from the MENA region. One thing’s for sure: Bader kills dancefloors without any compromise. Yalla Soundsystem has a residency and hosts a monthly radio show on the Paris based channel Radio Flouka.

The events that shake Palestine and Israel are resulting in an ever-tighter spiral of violence and desperation. They are a horrific wake-up call that brutally brings the precarious situation on our planet to the fore. The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, and Israel’s collective punishment of Palestinian civilians are intolerable. On top of that, the military actions threaten the lives of the remaining hostages in the Gaza-Strip, and even more innocent people in Gaza.

For this 240th Premiere of 2024, we have the title track from Berlin-based musician and sound designer "Sankt" (Florian Sankt aka Shō) of his forthcoming Album "Canopy Drift" on his own label : Crux Axul.

Sankt - Canopy Drift [Crux Axul]

Sankt’s first full-length album Canopy Drift hones in on previous genre experimentations and offers multiple compelling configurations of ambient, fuzzed-out breaks, IDM and warped electro.

Washes of birdsong, bleeps and hyaline drones interweave on Eosphoros, the album's opener, laying the ground for the serpentine Underglow, on which a creeping hum of a rhythm is bolstered by snarling bass jolts.

Wryl is where the album really takes up speed, its forward momentum adorned by fractured voice snippets and scuttling high-hats. The tempo is then upped again by Xerosere with its fuzzed-out pads and meticulous breakbeats, before the melancholic Floaters throws a bit of a curveball with crunchy and blown-out 90s electro, broken up by playful glitches and drop-outs.

On Parhelion, a concise exercise in elegiac splendor, bell-like plucks float through the spectrum as the record finds a brief resting place. In contrast, the dubby title track morphs wet sounds and pulsating textures to erratic ends, just as Pfund Dub reframes UK Garage-y shuffles in a minimalist, yet blown-out fashion.

Filtered pads usher in Creeping Nightshade, in which levee-breaking drums relentlessly waltz onward in the company of heavily deconstructed whispers, industrial-sounding squelches and bass salvos.

Time-stretched and curling amen breaks return on the penultimate Peripheral Visions, which is interjected with hazy and sometimes somber organ chords. Noctilucent, the last of the three interconnected ambient pieces structuring Canopy Drift, closes the record out with recoiled piano reductions, as reverb tails droop off into the distance.

Following last years remix of ‘System’ with Tiz East, Simkin returns to All Centre with ‘Toxin’ the second dose of his infectious hybridized club sound.

On the title track he picks up where he left off, riffing on the tropes of techno and club styles with ease and continuing to set the pace for what’s to come. Sprawling high pitched FX fly overhead veering in all directions whilst a cavernous chord pins down the tracks chugging beat as it lurches forward.

B-side ‘Anarres’ begins with an assured combination of deep 4x4 kicks and industrious percussion that are later joined by an angelic haunting melody and a picked bass line. As the track glides along further drums begin to syncopate, locking the listener deeper into a phantom breakbeat groove.

Toxin is available across all platforms from the 6th of March.

To celebrate the label’s second anniversary we’ve enlisted a crew of friends and family to put together a compilation which looks to consolidate the sound that the label has honed so far and envision where it’s headed in the future.

Additionally our in-house artist Bette Blanchard has created 8 artworks responding to the compilation, which have been riso printed on A3 to go in the home or studio <3
