To introduce you all to the Spaniard DJ Canales, we need to go back to the very early years of the Madrilenian electronic scene; a time when our guest was a young music lover known as Pedro Moreno who spent hour after hour in those first record shops of the capital, especially at his beloved Madhouse. Thanks to this relation, he came into contact with electronic genres such as techno and electro, and after showing off his skills at the decks, he managed to play in some top clubs of the city. On this occasion, DJ Canales puts up an electrifying and compelling podcast to show his own approach to the electro universe.

Early 1990’s - The Future Sound Of London, Aphex Twin, and Autechre, along with a myriad other UK electronic music artists shaped his formative years before Ryan ventured into the Techno clubs of London.

Mid 1990’s - Final Frontier (Club UK), Sabresonic, and most significant of all - LOST. It was here that he was exposed to luminaries such as Jeff Mills, Steve Bicknell, Claude Young, Jay Denham, Luke Slater, and many others; His connection with these artists remains stronger today than it ever has. 

Late 1990’s to early 2000’s - Ryan have played at, and promoted parties across Europe, with DJs and Live Acts that he respects greatly - Underground Resistance, DJ Rolando, Ben Sims, Stacey Pullen, 65D Mavericks plus many others.

Now - He continues to collect and play electronic music, presenting a broad range of sounds from ambient to hardcore, and a recent highlight for Ryan was closing the “Campfire Stories” podcast series for legendary Canadian label Silent Season.


The name Betamax stands for quality electronic music and analog warmth in micro/minimal/lo-fi/tech house/breakbeat and electro genres. The show itself is a mix series to represent groovy, funky, and rough sounds to show a more creative and experimental approach to dance music and Play4n4.

Familia UEMA, vamos con la nueva entrega de nuestra serie de podcast. Hoy toca la número 096 pero bien podríamos decir que se trate de la 808, y es que vamos con una de Electro, y del serio, y además, Viste Chándal!
Vamos rumbo a Catalunya en busca de uno de los artistas Electro más genuinos que tenemos el gusto de conocer, hablamos de Spy Dj aka The Bandit.
Spy Dj es todo un veterano de nuestra amada escena Electro, el tito Bandit lleva desde finales de los 90 dando guerra, repartiendo Bass y partiendo Cajas sin más.
Su trayectoria es extensa y bien reconocida por los que amamos este estilo y vamos a tratar de resumirla. Como productor Spy Dj usa el apodo The Bandit y comenzó a editar en torno al 2008. Su estilo es sinónimo de potencia y efectividad, muy cercano al Miami Bass pero con su toque personal que lo hace fácilmente reconocible. Sus trabajos han visto la luz en sellos de todo el Planeta como Audiovisual Theorem, Prodamkey, Subsonic Device, Tropical Underground, Kirófano de Audio, Artifexbcn, Electroclub Records, Bass Agenda, Crobot Muzik, Útil records, Urban Connections o GSVC…
Además, como Spy Dj ha paseado su arte a los mixers por salas como Nitsa (Bcn, de la que fue residente), Moog (Bcn), Razzmatazz (Bcn), Siroco (Mad), Specka (Mad), Miniclub (Vlc), Suicide Circus (Ber) o Griessmühle (Ber), eso sin contar la multitud de eventos subterráneos en los que ha hecho sudar al personal.
Spy Dj es un gran artista y también un currante de los grandes, siempre vinculado a la escena Underground y luchando por ella. Muestra de ello son los diferentes proyectos que ha llevado y lleva a cabo con el único fin de defender la música en la que cree. Proyectos como Electroclub Records, donde nos dejó los grandes recopilatorios “Don’t Stop Da Bass” o los más recientes como Útil Records o Gente Serie Viste Chándal, donde forma parte de un equipo que está llevando a cabo un trabajo exquisito, lanzando releases de Electro desde la calle hasta nuestra maletas.
Sin duda que Spy Dj es todo un referente y un ejemplo de constancia y dedicación, algo que en UEMA apreciamos y respetamos. Por esto para nosotros es todo un orgullo contar con él y su magia.
Para esta ocasión Spy Dj nos ha obsequiado con un set de Electro muy bien rebuscado y mejor pinchado, dejando claro que su pasión va más allá de las modas pasajeras o los hits del momento. Roberto Rey (better known as Negocius Man)is a Spanish artist that began his career as a DJ in 1997 and as a producer in 1999. His beginings in music date back to the Hip-Hop era of the early 90's and the Electro of the 80's and 90's. He was part of the Hip-Hop group MFD2 along with Mackfrank, Darmo, Julia with her alias Dj. 

He performed in Madrid in clubs such as: Kea, Davai, El Sol, Siroco, Social centers such as Seko, Laboratory, and nationally in Sala El Grito (Murcia), Sala El Arrebato (Zaragoza), The Orritxo (Bilbao). Specka,  BAS (Madrid), My Beat, Femur Fest (2015) in Live format, Three Monkeys Festival, Electrocamp (Valencia), Republik, Moroder Sound Club, Yasta, and many more.

In 1999, he began his first contact with machines such as Roland MC303 and software such as Fruity Loops and Fastracker. In 2000, it is when he begins to use his aka NEGOCIUS MAN. In 2003 he creates What if ... Prods & Mixtapes for the promotion of his music in specialized magazines, in 2005 he disconnected from the world of Hip-Hop almost completely to go further into the Electro and decided in 2007 to create his own club, THE KINGS_ELECTROBAR in Alcázar de San Juan (C. Real)in which he made very good public relations. 

In 2008 he decides to acquire new hardware and returns to Madrid, publishes in ELEKTRODOMESTICOS 2 and 3 in Fundamental Records (Madrid) label where it's usual to find his references on vinyl. Since then he has not stopped publishing in different labels such as Mars Frequency Records (Madrid) , Bankai Records (C.Real), Binalog Frequency Records (Greece), Beathazard (Bcn), Eclectic Reactions Records (Bilbao), Elektrodos (Zamora) Electroclub (Bcn), Urban Connections (Jaen) Crobot Muzik (London / Croatia), Subsonic device (Germany), and since 2014 on its own MICROM RECORDS label.

Across the years he has shared decks with artists such as Awco, Waje DJ, Dj. F, Groof, David Aragon, Durban Noise, Robert Cosmic, The Zenobit3, Julia Pé, Sace 2, Bas Madrid, Eleztrik Body, MEKA, SEEK2012, Darxid, Lektroid, Arch, Fer Xploxion, Antoni Maiovvi, Hyboid, Mauro Nakimi, Vema or Spy, plus many more.

In today's episode Negocius Man has crafted an angular, robotic-rhythmic spacey electro vinyl-only mix. This for sure will pummel the late-hours dancefloor. Whistleblower.

Espion has brought his dark and meticulous sound to venues all over the UK, Prague, Berlin, Udine (Italy) and Shenzhen (China), while also doing sound recording, sound design, post production and music for short film.&#13;
