Taaris @taaris_music is a French Dj whose work is to make Raw and Hypnotic Techno a shamanic rhythm process. In a vision where textures are the DNA of the plants, Taaris's music revives ancestral atmospheres. A return to the strains which exploit both the Berlin acidity, the psychedelic vibratile but also the subtlety of the rhythms.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Tsukuyomi, a 19 year old DJ/Producer from Tbilisi, Georgia.

Tsukuyomi first began collecting releases from age 16 and soon after he started mixing hypnotic, timeless and mind bending techno, with strong inspirations coming from Yanamaste, a well known artist from Tbilisi. 

In 2022 Tsukuyomi aims to create some unique sounds and produce his own EP.

Hailing originally from Milan, Italy, the young Alarico has been popping up left and right internationally on various flyers and record releases, both of them hinting at a great career in the making. Part of a new freshman class of artists working on raw, deep, and quick techno, his productions often result in psychotic effect. Fast, swinging hats chase a rolling synth line made only more erratic by confronting stabs.

In an era where emulating vintage sound is the trend, Alarico takes the best of the past and extracts the cheapness before looking forward, creating records of very reliable effect that have been employed by the world’s top selectors. Taking all of this into account, it would only make sense to have him release on HAYES collective, do a 14-track mental breakdown of a record on Diffuse Reality, do his first contribution to Token, or deliver probably his most successful release yet on Amsterdam’s OOM Records.

Elisa Batti is a DJ, producer and sound designer based in Amsterdam. A polyhedric artist that roots her career in a heterogeneous background, where technology, art and music come together. She is constantly pushing the boundaries of contemporary music in her projects, striving to create multidisciplinary pieces that challenge and expand its limits.

Next to her own artistry, Elisa also runs the label Immaterial Archives since 2018, where she aims to release high quality techno from well established producers and also from upcoming talents. She also curates the series V-Eclipse which supports female-identifying producers and producers within the queer community. Her sets are pure bred techno, ranging from hypnotic and deep dark to vibrant and energetic. When she plays, she always strives to add her own personal touch, leading the crowd through a journey!

Dortmund based artist steadily building his name in the German techno scene. Having performed in venues such as Tresor.West and Anomalie Art Club he already has some recognition. With releases on Dystant Recordings and his own Aquae Sextiae as well as forthcoming on Pure Echo, he is also proving his skills in the production side. 

Expect diverse selection focused on groove with a slice of off-beat techno.

Fiedel joins for DifferentSound Podcast #198.

Contrast. Objection. Antithesis. This is how you might start an attempt to describe the world. A seemingly chaos of shapes and thoughts that don't belong to each other. An overall image to be found in life and in music.  But that's not Fiedel’s view of the world.  Where others make distinctions, he sees connections, where others find emptiness; he finds rooms full of opportunities. Finding those harmonies, connections and contexts marks out his musical work. The synthesis of apparently opposing music, the interaction and the mix of styles and moods, without loosing the storyline, that  makes out the characteristic Fiedel sound. Born and raised in Brandenburg, he finds access to the music through various artists and styles in the mid 1980s. He was influenced by artists of the old school hip hop like Mantronix and  Egyptian Lover and  the early works  of Depeche Mode and  Kraftwerk.  A very important influence was  Monika  Dietl’s radio  show at Radio 4U in West-Berlin. Her show aroused the fascination and the longing for musical freedom and  diversity,  that  was not possible in former Eastern Germany. Those impressions gave him a first feeling, a first vision of what  should become alive later on. He is lead by his history, the history of the music and  the feeling of the moment to build something new and  to capture this very moment. Let it be the straight dark techno of today, banging acid of the 80ies or an electro funk record, Fiedel surprises. He undermines and overrides expectations and refrains to limit the music for any reason. He lets the music speak for itself, through himself.
