Four years ago Ma Sha launched Kindergarten Records into a world in which dancing in a club was impossible. The sounds brimmed with an intensity and intimacy that felt so far away during the Covid 19 lockdowns and the following months saw a slew of close friends in the scene join the label. Within the dearth of contact they conjured that missing feeling of togetherness with a series of mind-bending split EPs that ultimately laid the foundations for the crew that Kindergarten now represents.

With Slipstreaming, the first split EP on the label since 2021, Ma Sha teams up with Sobolik to return to Kindergarten’s origins in collaboration and pure energy. Taking cues from each other’s unfinished projects and bouncing ideas back and forth, the pair serve up the fastest EP the label has released to date. While it may be a surprise to fans of the label that these higher climes haven’t been breached before, the frantic dynamism is exactly what we’ve come to expect from Kindergarten releases.

'Daily Rituals' is the debut EP by IDA, the pseudonym for Finnish, Berlin-based DJ and producer Ida Koskunen. Released on her own Sävy Records label, this is an immersive four-tracker that draws together IDA's years of experience playing techno, breaks, electro and 'everything in between'. Her signature love for classic rave cuts flows to the fore on her vivaciously-executed first foray into production. 
 
Sävy Records has previously been home to releases from esteemed artists including Ryan James Ford, Poly Chain, Slacker and Tracing Xircles, and here IDA steps up with shadowy, mind-bending electro, richly percussive breakbeats and peak time techno that scours the dancefloor for shades of both darkness and light. 'Daily Rituals' offers club-focused compositions with heart, intuitively guiding us through the multiple of moods that colour the party from midnight to well past daybreak. 
 
The A side opens with the mood-setting, acid inflected 'Vapauteen', then delivers the characterful, distinctive bassline and addictive grooves of 'Dopamine Hunt'. The B side features ‘Currents’, including a remix from cosmic sound voyager and fellow Finnish producer Sansibar, with his dubby, drum-driven version of 'Currents' highlighting how these two artists both slickly sidestep genre constraints. The result is the emergence of IDA's singular musical voice, boldly and brightly expressed across her debut EP.

'Greta', the A-side, is a bright and ethereal composition, reminiscent of his track Outer Delta Dynamics from the ODD EP, with uplifting synth melodies and a futuristic vibe. The B-side, 'Hope', takes a darker turn, offering a deeper, more melancholic tone, driven by bass-heavy synths that echo his previous electro oriented release that was meant for the dancefloors.

Both tracks were developed during the same period as his tracks were released on the collaboration split with Timothy J. Fairplay, continuing Norwell’s deep connection with the Dalmata Daniel label.

the tracks on “eto ne to” feature nocow’s signature wordplay, inviting listeners to read between the lines and discover hidden meanings within his poetry. among the collaborations, “na m2”, featuring dj designer, came about unexpectedly when a voice message from dj designer about buying an ipad was captured. its natural humour fit the vibe and gave the track a special charm, further enhanced by the unique pitch. “universo freaky” with fellow трип artist cerrot captures the energy of two artists’ mutual admiration. cerrot sent nocow a track and requested a vocal approach inspired by nocow’s earlier work with kedr livanskiy. the result is a seamless, high-energy banger, marking a joyful creative collaboration.

DJ FRM is Rotterdam record store Clone Records’ front desk familiar face, Operator Radio resident, and techno-aficionado, having recently started co-running vinyl record labels Full Range Motion and Fusion of Thought. DJ FRM’s techno DJ-sets are an amalgamation of spaced-out loops and dance floor ready cuts, drawing from his extensive record collection and experience working in the Clone store.

This set was recorded at local legendary techno club Perron, August 2 2024.

The ‘Praise’ LP sees Uncertain meld racing synths with hard-hitting, rolling rhythm across its eight-track runtime, each track expertly produced in his unmistakable signature style of frantic techno. From stabs shot-through with real soul in opener ‘Ecstasy’, the trippy acid-infused ‘Supreme’, and floor-filling vocal cut ‘Feel’ through to the peak-time energies in ‘Pain’, wonky sequences of title track ‘Praise’, and strobe-light-inducing workout ‘Time’ - this is a release that offers something for everyone. Uncertain’s ‘Praise’ is an album that accelerates in tempo but maintains a constant machine funk that will undoubtedly resonate with both dancefloor and DJ.

Active since 1989 as Boriqua Tribez and known as Uncertain since 2018, he has made a name for himself with diverse productions that have made him one of Beatport’s top-selling techno artists while his fast-paced three-deck mixing and dancefloor storytelling fuel his tours abroad. Across the last three decades, he’s worked on over fifty releases on labels like Truncate, Beard Man, Illegal Alien, and Mind Medizin, with three prior appearances on Rekids’ RSPX offshoot. His previous two EPs on Radio Slave’s RSPX won the support of notable acts like DJ Bone, Ben Sims, Elisa Bee, Rodhad, Alienata, and many more, with the ‘Praise’ LP seeing Uncertain once again on top form for the celebrated techno imprint.

Jo.hana is a DJ and graphic designer based in London. She started DJing as a member of the multi-disciplinary collective Banda Panda from Belgrade. After a few years, Banda Panda evolved into a DJ duo, fully immersing themselves in DJing and cultivating the underground electronic music scene by throwing parties regularly at the infamous Belgrade clubs 20/44 and Drugstore. Jo.hana also organized several party series, including F-Society, which focused on promoting local female electronic DJs and music producers. Jo.hana's mixes are expressions of her chaotic musical influences, blending different genres to create an iridescent and vibrant sonic experience. She is now dedicating her efforts to learning and exploring the realm of music production, continually pushing the boundaries of her artistic expression.

CKFM number 43 comes in the form of a stormer of a mix from Inverness stalwarts Hypnotic Groove. 

Johnny & Andrea have been going to raves since the 90s and have the stories along with the record collections to prove it. Their party, label and mix series Hypnotic Groove is an institution in the Highlands and the couple are rightly seen as taste makers when it comes to house & techno in the area. Having recently performed in La Cheetah club Glasgow along with a mix for Rinse FM on the Huntleys & Palmers show, they have kindly provided the next hour for your listening pleasure.

This is a journey through stripped back techno with flecks of acid, foot stomping rides and the odd broken beat thrown in for good measure.
