This month's show for Electronic Convergence features tracks from German cult label GIEGLING. Loaded with experimental minimal, glitch and all sorts of wonky grooves and organic soundscapes, representing its own very distinct sound. Giegling records are quite rare and fetch considerable prices on Discogs, so are in quite high demand when first released. After that, we are at the mercy of the sharks!

Emerging from Amsterdam's vibrant DIY scene, Extase Urbaine has made a name for
himself with his genre-crossing sets and forward-thinking productions. Known for
blending techno, electro, and trance, Extase calls his style 'body music for all bodies'.
Co-founder of the influential HDE collective, he is committed to diversifying the
underground clubbing scene. His debut EP "Sacred Winds" on NYC-based label Samo
has garnered attention for delving into the darker realms of techno leftfield.

Following our recent news article on Kokong Festival, today we turn our attention to the festival’s inaugural sampler - a curated glimpse into the artists set to perform this weekend inside the iconic geodesic dome at Pub Stallhagen on Åland.

Spanning four tracks, the compilation brings together leading voices from the Nordic electronic music scene: FISK, the analog techno alias of Finnish producer and Elektron product specialist Daniel Troberg; the exploratory textures of Andreas Tilliander and jazz trumpeter Goran Kajfeš; the murky Baltic atmospheres of Havsmörker; and the pulsating club energy of Norwegian techno veteran Mental Overdrive.

Our pick from the sampler is the opening track 'Ilväder' by Scandinavian duo @havsmoorker. Comprising Anton Johansson and Axel Jonsson, the pair fuse field recordings, analogue synthesis, and traditional acoustic instrumentation into immersive folktronica and ambient works. Their sound conjures a sense of sensory navigation - foggy, spatial, and deeply intuitive.

Steeped in atmosphere, Ilväder is both murky and crystalline - a meditative piece that weaves mystical synth lines with effervescent percussion, blending natural elements like flute with earthy, ancient textures. The result is an experimental, downbeat track that gently leans toward the techno spectrum, while remaining rooted in introspection and place.

Havsmörker - Ilväder [KOKONG]

4 UGLY DJs ONLY Vol. ONE: file under alternative dance music — a snarling snapshot of the unconventionally attractive side of underground dance music. Curated for the late-blooming, ugly duckling disco dollies, this seven-track collection veers through busted club experiments, mutant techno, and haunted house heaters.

Each artist pushes dance music into strange, unconventional terrain — unafraid to embrace the peculiar, the abrasive, and sometimes even the ugly. The release features:
Thomass Jackson, Argentinian-born and now based in Mexico City, known for releases on Multi Culti and his own Calypso Records dj_2button, UK-born and Vancouver-based, head of the excellent Weirdos Inc imprint;

HIGHELECTRiX, the debut project of Lisbon’s XCI, presenting their first-ever track under this moniker;

Etbonz, a familiar name to @Bed_of-Roses-1 followers, with previous releases on Love on the Rocks and Bahnsteig 23;

@listentomorpheme, a fresh face whose electro-freak-pop debut Collected Pieces recently dropped on EYMS;

Wormbox, the collaborative alias of Break Mode and Cole Baby, names that are all too familiar in BoR world have recent offerings for Paradia Sound, Ransom Note, and Electric Shapes;

MagicPink, another Bed Head on the BoR roster, continues to throw more irons into a fire that refuses to be contained. Also recently featured on the Electric Shapes Unreleased Territory vol. 4

Together, they form a crooked constellation of acid-damaged jams and asymmetrical DJ tools.

Celebrating 20 superb years since his debut, UK electro producer Emile Facey aka Plant43 is back with his fifth album on Plant43 Recordings. Feeding the Machines draws on his reputation for intricate, emotive electro, which has previously come across labels like CPU, Semantica and Trust, all while blending machine precision with human imperfection. This ten-track set explores electro, techno and drum & bass through layered synth recordings that capture real-time physical movement and create a rich, organic texture. 'Anthropomorphic Algorithms' is not only the best title but also our favourite with its lithe rhythms and plunging bass - that deep sense of space travel and melodic whimsy always makes a mark.
