Techno legend Dave Angel drops ‘Glide’ on Radio Slave’s Rekids this January.

Dave Angel was a regular on Brixton-based pirate radio station Phase One in the late ‘80s and an integral part of the UK Techno scene ever since, remixing the likes of Underworld, Orbital, and Model 500, and founding Rotation Records in the ‘90s. Turning his sights to Radio Slave’s essential Rekids for his latest release, the iconic DJ/producer prepares a heavy duty two-tracker for the label, dropping in early 2023.

Title cut ‘Glide’ leads the release with flanged hi-hats, evolving synths, and rocking low-end combining to form a club-shaking hit. On the flip, ‘Peekaboo’ combines dub-techno-inspired chords with wonky samples and pumping drums for a warehouse-filling B-side.

Pino Peña, the berlin based resident of Schimmer Records and label head of W133, curates a journey through recently discovered tunes as well as tracks that have been sitting in his library for a while! The focus was put on combining dark atmospheres with diverse styles of techno, breaks and stuff in between. He recorded this after coming back home from Mexico City and you can hear the latin influences he has learned to love! Enjoy <3

Minimalistic tension rendered in sonic form. Charged textures shimmer beneath the surface, intertwining with subtle rhythms. A track for moments of quiet anticipation, when breath is held and the unknown awaits.

As night falls, the sounds of nature grow louder – even on distant planets. Echoes of unknown creatures pierce the darkness, while a long-dwelling surveillance unit quietly responds: all systems normal – for now.
