He could hear the engine roaring beneath him, it was strained and mighty.

Smoke billowed from exhausts, then it all went dark as they hit the end of the tunnel and returned to the night.

All their attempts to capture the true facts of their existence are in vain: The world is just secrets and enemies. The past feels like a grim, reverberant echo of loose imaginations.

Riddley Walker (1980) is an experimental science fiction novel by Russell Hoban. It inspired “Riddleyspeak”, the eighth release of Comfortnoise, written and produced by new-dot-com. five not entirely familiar club and sound system tracks: breakbeat influenced, techno leaning, and bass-heavy.
