aethernal opens the remix compilation of his hypnotic debut record on Linie Neun with a reinterpretation of the track Lucid Echoes. Combined with broken rhythms and modulated synths, the transcendent mood of the original is put into a new context. 
Furthermore, the remix ep radiates a sophisticated variance of the originals, moving between experimental sequences, hypnotic progressions, housy sounds and warm ambient surfaces.

Cocktail D'Amore know a thing or two about party starting wild cards, and thus far Lion's Drums has proven to be adept in that department with drops on Hivern Discs and his own self-titled label. He comes to the Cocktail party with two edits of Manos Tsangaris' powerful drum sermons - visceral percussive flurries from a man with enough rhythm to partake in the lauded Drums Off Chaos project. You should have a good idea from that what these two tracks are about - heavy, physical tracks for maximum dance induction, moments of pure abandon and the odd firework or two.

"Milagros del Ritmo is the third release of Harmonie Exotic, a label focused on reissues and compilations of obscure tracks.The producer Jose Manuel, already known for his releases on Optimo Records, Music for Dreams and other labels, has selected ten rare tracks from 1988 to 1991. Starting as a DJ, Jose Manuel has developed over the years a passion for vinyl collection. This passion has also turned into work by creating the above mentioned label with the aim of bringing back the art of the past.Milagros del Ritmo starts with the sexy voice of Debbie McKayle in “Necesito tu Amor”. Her vocal mood reminds us “Sueño Latino ” . The compilation continues with “Abadan” by Mondo Bagdad, who combined Arabic sounds with New Beat. Also in “Zena” (Dub) there are middle east and the first Chicago house influences. The next track “Mescla Del House”, released in very late 80’s, sees the Spanish vocal with the drum Roland TR-808. Then the compilation moves from Synth-pop with “Radio Arabesque” to the belearic downtempo with “Waves” by Ambionix and to EBM sounds with “Yoshua” by Danton's Voice.

Øyvind Morken is a hard man to pin down stylistically. He makes a wide array of genres and knows how to get any party started. He has done so all over Europe and released on diverse labels like Moonlighting, Full Pupp and Gravity Graffiti, as well as putting out a cassette mixtape on L.I.E.S. Records. He also works on the Chicago and Detroit-inspired side project Wild Flowers with his friend Kaman Leung. Together they put out their Reactivate album here last year but now he is back in solo mode.
Morken channels melodic charm and the outlier sounds of his reputed DJ sets with these two new cuts. 'Giorgio More-Hoarder' opens up and is a dazzling post-disco workout with stiff arps riding up and down the scales. Slapping hits and rugged drum machine rhythms power the groove along and take you to the next dimension. The silky 'Speaker Juice' is an outer-space electro workout with trippy sci-fi motifs and neon synths over a crisp beat. It's cinematic body music with a unique sense of future soul.

This is the first of what are two brilliant EPs from Øyvind Morken.

In physical confinement, freedom becomes a state of mind; a place to visit when we can’t move our bodies the way we want to.
