@davidcastellani presents ‘Requiem EP’ on his new Noetic imprint, including two explosive & hypnotic originals accompanied by a deep remix via boundary pushing producer @etappkyle.

Following a string of stand-out releases featuring revered remixers the EP is armed with a rework from Ukrainian producer Etapp Kyle, and follows the launch of Castellani’s ‘Metanoia’ set via Mixmag.

Opening proceedings is ‘Requiem’. Using syncopated rhythms carried on a thunderous kick, Castellani creates a deep Utopian atmosphere. The dense reverb has a hypnotic element, while metallic swipes
and an elusive saw wave spiking in the background maintains the celestial feeling. Higher frequencies are exerted during the tracks breakdown, intensifying matters before diving back into the hypnosis.

Next up is the fiery rework from Etapp Kyle. Maintaining the main riff and coy saw wave, he shifts the drumwork into a sputtering, punchy affair. Using distortion and changing the octave of the main sample,
the Ukrainian producer pivots the original into an energetic stomper.

Closing out is 'Absentia', a buoyant and cosmic expedition compiled of jagged chord and gated synth rhythms. Hi-hats open & close throughout along with elastic analogue bleeps that evolve and intertwine around the driving drumwork.

Premiere: David Castellani 'Requiem' (Etapp Kyle Remix)

Vibrant acid tracks knead muscular electronic dance structures on Gerald Brunson's debut EP. A member of the Model 500 extended family and running Dance Sacred Records, Brunson presents a restless world that beckons forth from the underground of the Midwest, full of bouncing flair and techno passion. 

Hoffman's S.O.S. (Scully, Owsley, Sand) is more than a mere head nod to the alchemists participating in the League for Spiritual Discovery and The Brotherhood of Eternal Love. It induces a pristine acid trip that twists neurons about agitated filtered effects and effective rhythmic structures. Finally, it emerges into wondrous vistas of ever-expanding horizons. Blue Striped Felix worms deep into the groove with the same brawn, its components lean and unceasing. 

Over on the flip side, 2way struts a mean dance, stripping out the previous track's acid melodies into something far more focused on repetition with an electro influence shining through. This electro sound beams forward even more into a mutant funk on Morf. The synths move squeakily as if the machine got jammed into enlightenment. Unexpected beat changes flick over to a four to the floor briefly, before out of nowhere chords invite the closing moments in with an eventual melodic response to the dancing synths. 

Brunson's tracks represent a unique sound. Techno is as real as the person who experiences it, and these tracks come from an enigmatic messenger who is firmly out on a limb.

Latvian duo Queer On Acid return to Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains label with another stellar release. 
The ‘Rollerblader’ EP brings together a trio of bangers, further adding to the pair’s arsenal of tuneage that has found favour on labels like Josh Wink’s Ovum Recordings, Shadow Child’s Takeout imprint, and their own Queer On Acid record label.

Lead cut ‘Rollerblader’ is built upon thunderous beats and rattling snares, a simple stabbing horn penetrating through the granite hard drums. ‘Psycho’ gets raw and nasty with its brain scrambling elements, leaving ‘Inhale’ to close the EP with its deep and trancey low-frequency oscillations with ear-piercingly high-pitched sounds.

DJ Sodeyama readies ‘Makura EP’ for Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects.

Running the Arpa label from Japan since 2011, DJ Sodeyama has been actively involved in house and techno since the early 90s. Releasing music on labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Children of Tomorrow, Quartz and more under his The People In Fog alias, DJ Sodeyama now arrives on Radio Slave’s hard-hitting techno imprint Rekids Special Projects for his first appearance on the label.

Leading the release is ‘Catura’, bringing gentle flowing pads and gorgeous twinkling synths before the trippy, acid-tinged ‘Kumbhira’ takes a darker turn, sending the listener down a polyrhythmic rabbit hole. ‘Makura’ ups the tempo, drawing for sharp and fast percussion hits amongst ghostly atmospherics, an atmosphere matched by the deep and rolling ‘Pajira’, before ‘Sandira’ closes the release with a moody heads-down track complete with hypnotic synthesis and quirky FX.

'Amsterdam via Wales DJ & producer Maroki unveils a darker, more eccentric side to his productions, this time opting for four bass heavy, left-leaning cuts of idiosyncratic dance-floor experimentation on LTFIRE. Nestled amongst the trees along the river lJ, Maroki is surrounded by influence, from the city's bustling streets to the tranquility of nature's boundless beauty; Maroki’s work walks the tight-tope between these two spaces, a place where machines and human complexity meet.

‘Pots & Pans & Handstands’ opens up the A-Side with a high-octane journey, meshing breaks and shape-shifting bass with hoovering pads that sound like landing UFOs. ‘Hasnoot’ continues this menacing theme, providing an immersive experience that feels compulsive and raw. Yet, there’s elements of fun and flashes of colour, adding to the almost audio visual vibe Maroki can create.

The B side opens with ‘Boiler’ a nocturnal groove that sways ominously in the wind; If the UFOs were landing on the records A side, this is the soundtrack to their dystopian future. Maroki completes his metamorphosis with ‘San Andras’, visuals of large spaces with high concrete ceilings come to mind, where the track's mechanics can thrive, reverberating beautifully amongst the looming shadows of dancers.'

Part four in Alden Tyrell's latest project: "Vorm Variaties", a 5 release series consisting of tracks recorded in the last 2 years. The "Vorm Variaties" tracks were a "Style Excercise" for Tyrell, flexing his producermuscle while health issues forced him to stop touring. Initially he had no intention to release these tracks but we found them so good that we were almost forced to start this series. All tracks selected are variations on classic techno forms, using classic style ingredients and the 909. All 5 "Variaties" are different in style, yet all homogenous, all with Alden Tyrell's sound signature... on point production skills and stripped down arrangements.
