With a production style that is unmistakable, the Geneva hometown hero and Brainwaves Wunderkind has truly etched out his own sound which has become definitive in the electro scene. Infusing breaks with huge ripping analog bass lines and catchy vocals lending to its head thrashing charisma. Hermeth's nonchalant zero fucks attitude is contagious and effective on the dance floor a true Dionysian Aesthetic. Dale Don’s clever use of vocals to compliment the bass heavy track showcases Hermeths ability to make heavy electro track have a pop appeal. Do Ma Ting is relentless skull crushing high energy rave track with a bass line that sounds like a machine gun turret, which is complimented by its hilarious vodka drenched vocals and and catchy rap lyrics. Seoul based producer AVALON who has been turning up some sick music makes a really cool tripped out remix for Dale Don. Dionysian Mysteries head honcho Buzz Kill adds to the fury with his noisy acid rendition of Do Ma.

Not only is this the first post for Research & Development of 2024, it is our very first live set to be published as part of the mix series!  

Los Angeles-born Ole Mic Odd (aka Michael Padgett) grew up surrounded by jazz and rap music before moving to the east coast and becoming obsessed with vinyl. After DJing at parties and bars for years – spinning everything from dub/reggae and funk to krautrock and minimal wave – he finally discovered techno and picked up a few drum machines. 

Influenced by cult Dutch electronic labels, Detroit electro, Miami bass, early Chicago and P-Funk/G-Funk, Michael's music and performances are driven by hardware electronics, live recordings and improvisation. His high-energy live sets weave together techno, acid, electro, house, synth-wave and jakbeat styles, while his recordings range from acid electro and jackin techno to stomping house and ambient synth improvisations.

Michael has released on Kraftjerkz, Source Material, Zement, Dead Channel, Natural Sciences, New York Haunted, Another Perspective, Hilltown Disco, Clan Destine and Up North Records, among others. He has releases forthcoming on KRI Records, Zonate and Jungle Gym Records.
