At Nebulae HQ we always had a weakness for Supernova Remnants. They heat up the interstellar medium, distribute heavy elements throughout the galaxy and accelerate cosmic rays. We thought this concept was perfect as a metaphor for our compilations, so here we are with another cosmic trip towards one of this amazing cosmic phenomena.

The Medulla Nebula (or CTB-1) is the expanding gas shell that was left when a massive star toward the constellation of Cassiopeia exploded about 10,000 years ago. The resulting supernova remnant, nicknamed the Medulla Nebula for its brain-like shape, still glows in visible light by the heat generated by its collision with confining interstellar gas.

Gladio Operations label presents its ninth release, with volume 2 of the Split Machine series, which this time features two new and recognised faces on the European and American electro scene.

One of these new faces is producer Noamm. This Greek artist, who has releases on such respected labels as Bass Agenda and Fundamental Records, opens the EP with "Clone Machine" and "Scientific Technological Device", two excellent rough and pragmatic tracks which link perfectly with “Verruckter Wissenschaftler”. The latter track, a fast-paced cut impregnated with tasty dark textures, perfectly defines the talent of the Hellenic producer. 

The B-side bears the signature of Brice Kelly, who also debuts on Gladio Operations and gifts us three fantastic, enveloping, and melodic tracks. The American producer kicks off with “Beings of Alpha”, a deep and very well-constructed journey that gives way to “If You Don't Think Like Us”. 
We really like it, even more so if it is accompanied by an elegant vocoder and enigmatic strings. Lastly, we arrive at “Powers That Be”, the closing track of the album, where we can perceive a cut of aggressive bass lines and gloomy textures, well aligned with well-chosen robotic vocals.

URBAN DISTORTIONS is so exited to present the upcoming release "Lo-Fi Electro Lush" EP by KRYPTON 81 from Denmark that will be out on the 17.05.2024.
This amazing EP has been crafted and mixed in the analog domain and spiced with gritty sounds from vintage gear synth.
Nowadays pulling a perfect mix with software is quite easy, but the perfect sound is not what the ear is craving for.

Krypton 81 had its humble beginnings as a two-man project conceived on a cold November night at Copenhagen Central Station in 2013. The first release hit the scene in 2014, featuring Electro-infused music inspired by space travel, science, and occultism. Numerous subsequent releases followed on labels such as X0X, Lunar Orbiter Programme, Blind Allies, etc. With various live appearances across Europe, the group gained momentum.
However, in 2022, they decided to part ways. Now operating as a solo endeavor, Krypton 81 is still alive with a lot of new music in the pipeline.

We're excited to unveil our latest digital release on the Meta Moto platform. Poladroïd, originating from Belgium, the featured producer is renowned for blending electro and IDM with a fierce energy, notably showcased on labels like Science Cult and his own Roulette Rekordz. However, Poladoïd offers a departure from his usual style with this release, which feels like a spiritual successor to his previous work "Eurosiberie" on Detriti.

Drenched in dense, filtered atmospheres and infused with nostalgic echoes of a bygone era, 'Danse Macabre' exudes a dark and gritty ambiance, straddling the realms of retro-futurism and melancholic machine melodies. Drawing inspiration from a spectrum as wide as Holderlin's 'Hyperion' and the poetic works of Robert Brasillach and Charles Baudelaire, 'Danse Macabre' showcases Poladroid's versatility in crafting diverse sonic landscapes while maintaining a signature sound.

These are challenging times in the middle east. As the situation in Gaza gets worse daily, we are committed to doing what we can to end this conflict, and provide aid to the residents of Gaza, as well as all Palestinians in the west bank.

All proceeds from Confused Machines' digital sales will go directly to Physicians For Human Rights – Israel (PHRI) www.phr.org.il, which continues its medical work and humanitarian aid in the West Bank despite the difficult circumstances.

Since October 2023, PHRI has doubled its activity in the West Bank and is sending two weekly mobile clinic visits to help communities that are cut off from medical treatment due to the severe wave of settler and military violence, movement restrictions, and the financial crisis in the West Bank.

PHRI is currently unable to operate in Gaza due to restrictions by the Israeli authorities, and have been barred from delivering aid to the strip. PHRI is constantly working to resume these activities and will do so as soon as the circumstances allow.

We urge for an immediate ceasefire, the return of all hostages, and a peaceful future for all inhabitants of this troubled land.

Dalmata Daniel, with the seventh installment of the lathe cut series, invites us on a time travel journey.

11 years ago, on a hot and acidic July evening, the SILF guys secluded themselves in the Ballacid studio in the concrete jungle of Újpest to dive into the night with their analog setup. During the jam session, led by the TB303 bass synthesizer, these two timeless classic acid variations were born from a single theme.

'Tot-O' is the darker, more rugged stomper, while 'Tot-A' is the lighter, more upbeat acid-house track, featuring the playful use of the TR707 and TR727 drum machines by the duo.

TANS – The Unfaithful Husband EP


The next vinyl record from Squirrels On Film is a special edition white label by TANS. The Unfaithful Husband EP contains four filthy acid laced electric body movers from Southern Italy's Michelle Tansella. Michelle currently lives in Berlin where he makes industrial techno with his cousin Mike Tansella Jr as SONS OF TRADERS, & has released experimental cassettes on the UK's Seagrave label, but his roots go back to the Italian Hip Hop scene of the 80s & early 90s with a group called Zona 45.

Il Marito Infedele begins the EP & its tape saturated industrial throb evokes the best of that distinctive sound of underground European dance music whose thread runs through Italo Disco, Cold Wave & Acid House. A sinister groove for a giallo séance, the electric tom tom drums pound away against a murky bed of rhythmic fuzz, eventually surrendering to the four on the floor energy flash. The edges stay rough throughout, resulting in a delightfully dirty, unpolished funk.

Vera Vera combines the arpeggiated synthitic bass of classic Italo with late 80s Windy City Wax Trax & Acid. A snap of white noise snare squish keeps time until the WBMX beat hits. A proper atonal synth freakout squeals its way out of some primitive extra terrestrial party machine then the beat takes over again, emphasizing the low frequencies of the groove.

Growing Concern is where the tab kicks in all the way. Distorted 303, blown-out 707 complete with unapologetic cow bell take the body on a journey through a strobe light smoke machine sweat-drenched laser rave fantasy. It's a feeling of walls being brought down, and there doesn't seem to be any way back.

Missing Foundation is another lysergic banger, a drum machine drawing Fibonacci sequences in your brain as you transcend the grimy warehouse where you left your body. The timeless glow of consensual dancefloor utopia burns bright even when you close your eyes, the monochrome of this white label having exploded into technicolor pixels & smiling yellow faces repeating infinitely to the vanishing point of the imagination.
