Hydrangea - First Smells Of Spring

"It's a Mediterranean blue spilling from my heart, filling me up. Cool, deep, fathomless - between light and dark." 

This is how poet Gainor Ventresco describes "the perfect blue" in one of their poems. While it's unlikely that Ventresco had any ties with Italian DJ and producer Luigi Tozzi, these words perfectly capture the sensation that Tozzi's music evokes. Connected to the Mediterranean and deeply passionate about the ocean, his "Deep Blue" series transports listeners to a peaceful dreamlike state. The vastness of the universe and our subconscious worlds are perceptible within its depths.
Tozzi's refined take on techno in his live sets and productions has gained him increasing attention over recent years. Not to forget his impeccable storytelling skills as a DJ (highly recommend the Acquario Immersioni Sets Pt. 1 & 2), specifically showing up in longer DJ sets where the light and the dark go hand in hand, as they do so in life. 
Luigi shared with us a Live Podcast featuring some unreleased material - this mix is enveloping and absorbing simultaneously.  It is in such a way, that one could feel getting pulled into a magical vortex.

On our wishlist for our mix and Artist of the Moment series for some time now, we connected with this highly analytical, extremely dedicated, genuine and kind artist from Rome.

Mostly known for his rich and hypnotic live sets, he recorded for us a very deep and subtle DJ mix, showing a vast musical knowledge and an extreme quality in the mixing. With many percussive elements, and a vast array of soundscapes, this mix stands out for its clean sound and complex grooves organized in a smooth arrangement.

ABSIS, also known as Salva Coromina, has been a regular DJ in the Barcelona scene since the late 90’s under a different alias: MouseDown/MouseUp. He was a resident DJ at The Loft and a regular at Sónar, both in Barcelona, for many years. ABSIS has always been exploring the deepest side of electronic music which varies between ambient and techno. Next to DJ’ing he is also a producer and you are able to find some of his productions on Hivern Discs and Oslated. 

This set by ABSIS is a recording of almost 5 hours where he takes you on a fulfilling journey. He took a deep dive into his electronic library to create something special. The experience of ABSIS is clearly audible through the eclectic choice of tracks and his accurate mixing skills. Autumn is officially here in the Northern Hemisphere and as we're preparing ourselves to spend more time indoors we're also able to indulge more in music. When the idea of making a label came to us some years ago it we thought our contribution to the music scene should involve a podcast as well to inspire people's search for new sounds and finding new talents through sets as we've been fortunate enough to be able to do.

Next up for the Navigare Audio podcast is German born Shelley who've compiled a wonderful one hour and half musical adventure for us. We're grateful to receive such a fine mixes from talents out there that keep on inspiring us in our search for musical treasures. 

"Shelley, who hails from Bielefeld, Germany, has been DJing since 2019. Electronic music has been a part of her life since childhood. Through the local club scene, long nights, and numerous sonic journeys, she was inspired to teach herself the art of DJing. Her sets are characterised by cultivating frequencies and a deep understanding rooted strongly in nature. She creates an atmosphere that combines hypnotic and impulsive rhythms with dark and dissociative atmospheres.

Shelley channels her love for deeper electronics and transforms it into beautiful sonic realms. It didn't take long for her style to be recognised, and she was able to create impressive sets for such as Diffuse Reality , Crescent London, Artscope, Revelation in Sound and more. Also Eric Cloutier invited her to play her first gig at Tresor in Berlin where she could prove her skills in front of a decent crowd."

We are very glad to welcome Michel to our podcast series. There is a good chance to remedy your absence, if you are one of those who missed him in Prague in May this year, where we hosted his live debut. He was featured within the Hypnus Records showcase, that is a record label established by himself in 2013. 

Shortly after that he defined a sub-label called TOME, a medium for releasing strictly his own work, that tries to dissolve his fascination for the occult in his musical production.
