Just above the valley diffused in the fluffed-up clouds arises colourful towers. The receding mist opens up high castle walls enveloped by wandering garden paths. Wherever you go, whatever you lay eyes on – greenery is dancing with the sky of blue. The sun has made it under the tree canopy to illuminate overflowing basins full of fire-red fish while trickling down water tickles lovingly ears mercilessly worn by the city.
Indeed ears can rest from here up to the welcoming flute of waves heard just beyond the horizon. The flute heard so recently and at the same time anticipated for more than six years – Luigi Tozzi finally leaves an imprint on Black Wave’s sandy shores. Raised in Rome, the DJ and Producer takes influence from the timeless Italian sound, which he’s further developed with an emotional, swirling, dubby atmosphere. There’s an unmistakable texture to his productions.
Over the last years, @luigitozzi has been making a name for himself as one of the go-to DJs for his distinct brand of techno that draws both from ambient and club music. @hypnus, @mentalmodern, @nonseries, @outis-music and @012twelve – Luigi has kept his output within a close family of labels. His commitment to sound alongside his pensive and considered development as an artist has brought Luigi Tozzi to where he is today.

Black Wave 051: Luigi Tozzi

"It's a Mediterranean blue spilling from my heart, filling me up. Cool, deep, fathomless - between light and dark." 

This is how poet Gainor Ventresco describes "the perfect blue" in one of their poems. While it's unlikely that Ventresco had any ties with Italian DJ and producer Luigi Tozzi, these words perfectly capture the sensation that Tozzi's music evokes. Connected to the Mediterranean and deeply passionate about the ocean, his "Deep Blue" series transports listeners to a peaceful dreamlike state. The vastness of the universe and our subconscious worlds are perceptible within its depths.
Tozzi's refined take on techno in his live sets and productions has gained him increasing attention over recent years. Not to forget his impeccable storytelling skills as a DJ (highly recommend the Acquario Immersioni Sets Pt. 1 & 2), specifically showing up in longer DJ sets where the light and the dark go hand in hand, as they do so in life. 
Luigi shared with us a Live Podcast featuring some unreleased material - this mix is enveloping and absorbing simultaneously.  It is in such a way, that one could feel getting pulled into a magical vortex.

On our wishlist for our mix and Artist of the Moment series for some time now, we connected with this highly analytical, extremely dedicated, genuine and kind artist from Rome.

For the 5th birthday of Art Bei Ton we're happy to celebrate with a special podcast from a special artist and friend, the Italian DJ and Producer Feral.

Mostly known for his rich and hypnotic live sets, he recorded for us a very deep and subtle DJ mix, showing a vast musical knowledge and an extreme quality in the mixing. With many percussive elements, and a vast array of soundscapes, this mix stands out for its clean sound and complex grooves organized in a smooth arrangement.

He has inherently embodied the spirit of deep techno, of which defines Hypnus Records, through his passion for audio engineering, hardware experimentation and fascination for percussive instruments.

Feral’s affinity for the shamanic calls of the tribal drum have led him across the world to discover and nurture his defining sound. Finding comfort in the solitude of his studio, Feral’s visions emerge in the crepuscular hours of his native city, Rome.
