The mix series and music platform Mantissa takes its first steps into the label space with Mantissa 001. Written and produced by a close friend to the Mantissa family, this unnamed and elusive artist has helped us launch the label with a bang with three club focused, space inspired tracks designed to decimate a dancefloor or atone for a night's shenanigans at an after's.    

Space Cadet opens the extraterrestrial affair, weaving from acoustic elements to electronic and eclectic synth lines. The A side ends with Frozen Bounce, a wobbly number, woven together with quick cuts and jerky elements. U10A, the most structured of a complex affair is a warming club tool perfect for both, beginning and finishing an evening. It's remix similarly suitable for any party specific scenario, produced by the infamously talented artist Ciel.

Melbourne based artist Dashiell debuts on Felt Sense Records with five hazy cuts, including a remix from Salt Mines co-founder Rudolf C.

Dashiell is a Melbourne born and raised DJ & Producer and a member of production group Menage alongside Sam Brickel, who released a track on Kia's Animalia imprint back in June 2020. Dashiell is a devotee to glitch & minimal musical styles, which shine through in his 'Going Nowhere Fast' EP on Melbourne label Felt Sense Records. The EP features a collection of tracks recorded over several years in some of Dash's ever-evolving bootleg studio setups like laundry spaces, and leaky tin sheds. The EP opener 'Aspect' sees Dashiell invite Steeplejack artist Sam Brickell to feature. The track offers fluttering grooves, hypnotic pads and spacey, humming low frequencies before 'Going Nowhere Fast' lays down breaky rhythms, tripped-out fx and twinkling synths underneath. Up next, 'Oxy' takes things into minimal territories as the shimmering bassline fuse delicately with moody textures and dubbed-out vibrations whilst 'Scratching The Surface' features ambient atmospheres, breezy soundscapes and glistening melodies.

To finish, Berlin-based Australian producer and Co-Founder of the Salt Mines label rolls out a loopy remix of 'Going Nowhere Fast' as he blends trippy electronics and murky tonality.

Marie Montexier, head of Paryìa Records, releases the label’s ﬁrst EP by the German-Turkish artist a.b.u.3.0.3. Creating a range of slow and fast rhythms while mixing different genres from experimental structures to ﬂoor ﬁllers, Paryìa I doesn’t only highlight a personal and intimate side of a.b.u.3.0.3.’s work but also Marie’s sense for crossing genre boundaries.

Inﬂuenced by his father’s culture, a.b.u.3.0.3 blends elements of traditional anatol-folk with electronic music that shaped his youth. He combines bass heavy techno rhythms with deep acid patterns, letting his arrangements oscillate between nostalgic moods and contemporary sounds.

On this occasion Soos and NetterSystem deliver us a five song EP full of mist and 90s vibes. From the beginning this work takes us back to a party set decades ago in which breakbeat, techno and the jungle converge generating a series of sensations that are extrapolated. Digital and analog elements are mixed in the same timeline that in the end they reach the same conclusion: move the body.

As the tracks progress, the haze and white noise fill the imaginary space of our mind. Elements of bands like Spiritualized and many vocal samples fill the atmosphere throughout the tracks creating a well-being and at the same time an explosion of energy that causes you to move your body.
On the other hand, it is worth noting the maturity and the way in which sounds are handled in this work. In some parts it feels like being in the lobby of a European hotel: melancholic sounds that take time to mature in a very short amount of time. It's super enriching to hear layers and layers of sound that fall perfectly into place. In some parts the same melancholy takes us back to that time when the city of Leeds and Nightmares on Wax dominated the slopes. On the other hand, Latin America feels very present in the core of this EP.
Without a doubt, a work full of surprises and sounds that are not easily found.

Peter Croce has been making some noise lately with his Rocksteady Disco party and record label, and here he brings his burgeoning rework sensibilities to RNT with a varied pack of revisions straight from Detroit! On the ecstatic uptempo face-melting tip, we have Spirit Dance and Get Up And Boogie, either of which are sure to burn down any disco. Then there’s the hard-working, grown-ass groove of Proletariat Blues, and Made In China, a beautiful slow-burner for those early evening spins or late-night comedowns.

On the A-side, Aroop Roy means serious business with 'Reason to Dance'. Driven by an outrageous slap bass, infectious horn stabs and a limb-shaking vocal refrain, it's no surprise that this has been THE secret weapon of his recent sets around the world.

On the flip, Detroit native @petercroce, fresh from the huge success of his Razor-N-Tape EP, comes in equally strong, with the gospel-fuelled disco cut 'Just Like Heaven'. The track builds patiently, lingering on a raw disco groove, honing in on a powerful brass section and spirit-lifting vocals, and eventually climaxing with epic strings and thunderous piano.

In addition to releasing on Razor-N-Tape, In Any Case, Kampana, Nite Owl Diner Cool Ranch, and Worldwide FM Awards’ 2017 label of the year On The Corner, he owns and operates Rocksteady Disco and manages MotorCity Wine Recordings.
