@rocko-garoni aka Ocko Garen's career has unwittingly synchronized with that of Hypress Music. His broken beat and drum'n'bass past helps him freedom in his techno version in which he always explores boundaries. The 90's and the beginning of the rave culture were magnetic for him and crucial for the start of his musical career. He left his mark at the Zucker-Club in Bremen organizing illegal warehouse/outdoor raves to festival stages (Räuberhöhle/Fusion Festival) and as a label manager. His set whips through contemporary styles. Driving and edgy creates a dystopian sunrise where this feet can't rest.
As a producer, he is signed to Second State. His first EP, featuring a remix of Spanish acid hero Regal, was a huge success. In 2019, he will follow up with his next EP, which features a remix by Marco Bailey.
Further releases from Rocko are planned on Advanced Music, Elektrotribe or Manual Music.

After a longer break of our Hypress Friends Mix series we are very happy about @rrrarrri s contribution. If you're out and about in Leipzig or interested in stylish innovative bass music streams/podcasts, you can't miss his Air Waves (@airwavesradio)shows at Callshop Radio (@callshopradio) and Radio Blau. With his contribution comes the guilt conclusion to our own origins. With his intuition and his massive repertoire of all bass music genres. Bassmusic is always the frame for him. Even if the mix is a bit more untypical for Rarry, he knows how to harmonize 4/4 beat with 90s rave and breakbeat. is background and bass influences are unmistakable. He also lets the local reference to the national Electro/Bass scene flow in with various tracks from labels from Berlin and Leipzig like @wetpakrec, @warningberlin, @clearmemory and @radiantlove.

Zitat: "He experienced his socialization into electronic music in the early 90s, which he spent in the autonomous centers of his hometown Erfurt and found access via punk, rap to acid, electro and techno. From then on, he developed his own idea of how electronic music and parties should work. If one's path is lead to Leipzig it can be expected to get to know Templeton sooner or later. He has been around in the city's scene for over a decade and has since been involved in multiple projects -including some releases as one half of Mod.Civil on internationally renowned labels like Ortloff, Ornaments, Rotary Cocktails etc. as well as curating events at Distillery, IFZ, Mjut and participating in events projects such as HEET at Mjut Club or SENSORY at Elipamanoke, not to mention his infamous DJ- and Producer Skills. #21 - V:SONNTAG - HYPRESS Friends Mix

(@xenianogravity) Xenia Nanou regularly presents her own show on Athens Movement Radio. In addition, the native Greek is currently revitalizing the techno scene of Vienna with her music. While Polyxena was the lover of Achill, she devotes a lot of time and passion to acid, electro and breakbeat as Polyxene. With the experience of a sound engineer she also has the skills to prod the dancefloors with her style. We are very happy to have her on Hypress. It's almost like we were just waiting for her to bring the trademark sound of our label together in one mix. Acid meets Leftfield. Bass meets techno.

#22 - POLYXENE - Hypress Mix

@C4llin belongs to the fresh wild techno society as part of the EXIL crew. In his mix for Hypress it becomes clear how much emphasis is put on escapism. Beyond the 140 bpm limit, pumping groovy minimalism finds a sweaty symbiosis with detroit retro-techno and bigroom vibe. At the end of 2019 he started to captivate listeners with his hard groove sound at his own parties with his crew at Elipamanoke and at numerous parties inside and outside Leipzig. We have already let ourselves fall under the thrill. Do the same and enjoy the trip down.

#23 - C4LLIN - Hypress Mix

We would like to take the opportunity to introduce Katja Schorstein as a new member and let you pick up from her almost two-hour Dj Mix for Hypress . @catjes-official  is officially hired to dish out :-). The uncompromising nature of her daily business reproduces itself in goosebump and tear-down moments in her Dj sets. For she, putting on music is not determined by any whim. The crowd is supposed to work for ecstasy.  The crowd is supposed to dance! At the end of the day, you're left with a sense of exhaustion and the feeling that you've achieved something together. Since 2022, @junction_dj has been making waves as a DJ duo, regularly performing for the Pacece and Leipzig Callin collectives. With fresh ears, they capture the timeless straight sound of the mid-'90s and seamlessly merge it with contemporary hardgroove techno. Their mix for Hypress reveals even more depth, showcasing moments of warm strings intertwined with funky techno grooves.

Effortlessly blending different eras, they do so with a subtle yet powerful touch. In addition to their club nights and festival appearances, Junction is also politically active, organizing events across two different collectives. JETSET named a wishful thinking of the perfect rave night out and is also the b2b alias of Templeton and catjes, both dj's and producers based in leipzig. 

Since 2004 TEMPLETON was not only part of the techno scene in leipzig but he also played an active role in it. He gained a lot of experience and created his own, unique sound, one can hear his passion for electronica as well as a hard driving and hypnotic industrial sound. CATJES is just another name for techno. Her music is always straight forward but she has the rare ability to infuse goosebumps moments into this hard, industrial sound, also she loves it, to surprise with an unexpected beat and one can feel that she was a hip hop dancer her teenie years. Both thought, this would fit perfectly together; the same idea of a perfect rave and the slightly extraordinary taste of techno music.

It's been two weeks since we played the closing set for the Vinylschleifer party at Duqo. We – @catjes-official & Templeton – have recently come together as JETSET, a new concept. In this still young year, it has been an incredible experience for us. Without hesitation, we merged our most bouncing tracks, regardless of which techno subgenre they came from. For us, it felt like someone flipped the switch – the lights went on for us, and for the crowd as well.
