February's Live mix is here and it's a belter, this week we hear from Alex Blakemore otherwise known as 'Balrog' but on this occasion he assumes the 'The Groovemeister General' monika for just under 2 hours of House on steds, disco fuelled techno and tribal flavours sprinkled throughout, the 909 is strong on this one.

"This mix was recorded live from Eastern Bloc for the recent Northern Groove Association event which hosted Habgud the featured artist, The Groovemeister General (AKA. Balrog)

For his set, TGG focused on playing records from his substantial collection of house cuts and techno from the late 90s and early 2000s. This 1.45hr recording is from the final stages of his 3hr set, moving from some house edits into rolling techno grooves."

-Los gustos e intereses están en constante cambio pero siempre me he sentido atraída por los sonidos hipnóticos. Actualmente me gusta mucho el mental, hypnotic techno, fast techno, groove y el trance.

-La primera vez que vi a Jeff Mills hace muchos años que vino a Bogotá, me cambió la vida. En ese momento despertó mi interés por hacer algo con la música. Moby también siempre ha sido un referente para mí, un genio, como artista y como persona, y hablando de artistas nacionales, desde que conocí a Cami Vásquez, me cautivó completamente y he aprendido demasiado de ella. Es de las mejores selectoras que conozco. 

Actualmente, hay demasiados artistas que me inspiran un montón, tanto Djs como productores. Adiel, Vel, Ruiz OSC1, Vanya Velin, entre otros.

-Grey Skies de Turquoise Days, es una de esas canciones que puedo escuchar por siempre.

-Soy profesora de lenguas de profesión y vocación, enseño inglés y alemán. Pero además hace un año empecé mi propio negocio, tengo una panadería vegana en la que hacemos cosas maravillosas. Mi foco ahora es mi negocio y la música.
