A new artist collective will be gracing the nightlife scene this April, as five of melodic dance music’s leading talents combine their efforts under a single, unified banner. Emanuel Satie, Maga, Sean Doron, Tim Engelhardt and Yulia Niko make up Scenarios, the collective, record label and event series. The label’s inaugural release takes the form of the two-track Here To Stay EP. The first instalment sees three of the five members collaborate on Here To Stay, a meandering, emotionally-charged offering packed full of poignant chords and textured drum patterns throughout. It feels introspective and danceable in one, paving the way for a similarly moving number in the form of You & I, Paradise. This time DUDDHA’s mesmeric vocals create an achingly beautiful soundscape, one that winds with a gentle lucidity through resonant synths and a driving lead bassline. Individually, they are known as Maga, Sean Doron, Yulia Niko, Tim Engelhardt and Emanuel Satie, each of whom are established performers in their own right. Together, they become Scenarios. Their mantra is simple: to create and implement a unique genre of music, one that offers an unparalleled event experience. As a collective, their beliefs and outlooks are shared - allowing them to truly grow as one whilst maintaining their individuality as independent artists. Born in France and now based in Portugal, Maga’s discography boasts releases on some of dance music's most widely recognised labels, including Flying Circus and Get Physical. Israel’s Sean Doron has found a welcome home on Damian Lazarus’ Rebellion imprint over the years, whilst his Monochrome event series continues to go from strength to strength. Cologne’s Tim Engelhardt is a mainstay of iconic German label Stil Vor Talent, as well as Watergate Records, Innervisions, Diynamic and more.

Last year Rebirth Records celebrated 10 years with the release of the acclaimed compilation selected and mixed by Larry Heard. We are now happy to present 'Rebirth 10 Remixed': a special collection, available on a limited 2x12” vinyl edition, and three digital parts, including brand new versions of some of the classics of the label in the first ten years.

The first part includes remixes from Red Axes, Rampa, Modular Project and VVV. The hot Tel Aviv duo Red Axes bring their trademark new wave sound to a tropical dimension remixing Robytek's 'Luna Africana' combining unusual melodies of bells, chimes and perc drums. The Keinemusik boss Rampa is back with a killer remix of 'Deep Musique' by Pasta Boys Feat. Osunlade, definitely another dancefloor peak time cut on Rebirth. The italian duo Modular Project add their electronic-balearic touch to the Blond:ish vocal anthem ‘Wizard of Love’, while the misterious bass producer VVV reworks another classic on the label, ‘Crossroads’ by T-Polar, giving us a sublte but heavy deep and futuristic synth work. 

The cover sleeve is a work by Emil Schult, who has created a painting especially for the Rebirth's Anniversary. Emil is known for his work with electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk. Schult's collaboration with founders Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider saw him actively involved in writing lyrics as well as generating the design for some of the band's most famous covers.

All aboard the ‘Ark’: Two by two, four by four, whatever… Whichever way you want to board, the doors of this great vessel are open and Monaberry bossmen Super Flu are the proud captains.

Their first full voyage of the year, ‘Ark’ is a stately piece of techno noir theatre designed to wrestle the choppiest of dancefloor seas. A multi-layered narrative laced with crispy arpeggios and strange otherworldly talkbox textures, it’s an oceanic titan that ploughs through the heaviest of elements with grace and majesty.

‘Doppt’ takes us to the next waymark on the map. Gently rhythmic from the moment its first shakers kiss your ears, we’re soon satiated with tightly plucked percussive elements, subtle humanised textures and a sense of momentum that’s tightly coiled with suspense and drama in a way that only Super Flu know how.

Finally our feet touch terra firma with the mysterious afro house maverick Hyenah as he provides an earthy remix stampede. Flexing between African rhythms, powerful 4/4s and a tantalising breakdown salvo, it’s yet another sterling revision from the masked beast… And another exceptional Monaberry trip from the one and only Super Flu. Boy voyage!

German duo Monkey Safari make a rare step away from their own Hommage label for a stunning debut on Get Physical Music.

For the best part of the last decade now, Lars Rühlemann and Sven Fröhlich aka Monkey Safari have been serving up a quirky and curious take on house music that has brought real character to the dance floor. They have put out three absorbing full lengths as well as almost thirty EPs, and have made their Hommage label a vital one in the process. Here they open their debut with the excellent ‘Mantra,’ a propulsive house track with humid, jungle-like atmospheres, woodblock hits and elastic bass that really builds the pressure. It’s a warm and absorbing affair brimming with charm. 

Today's premiere, the hypnotic ‘Tollo’, then establishes another enchanting groove, this time with spoken word vocals intoxicating you further as the rubbery drums and soft, fat hits get you deeper into the groove.

This is perfect late night dance music for intimate parties and escapist
experiences.
