Sound Avenue's second release of 2014 appears to one of the labels most hyped projects to date. The 31st overall release on the Belgian imprint features the return of Mario Puccio to the label. Sound Avenue's 'Summer Sampler 2013' was released in June of last year and one of the standout selections was Mario's 'Holograms Of Life' which earned consistent play from Nick Warren. It was a defining production for the Argentinean producer as he managed to find the perfect blend of metallic toughness and haunting musicality which now 7 months later still sits as his finest work to date. The 31st release on Sound Avenue finds the label giving 'Holograms Of Life' it's official single release with two brand new remixes from: Progress Inn and Andy Arias.
In this day and age there are very few tracks that could be considered 'sought after' but the new Progress Inn interpretation of 'Holograms' is exactly that. The Australian based duo completed the remix several months ago and after heavy play from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren the production has been one of the most talked about tracks of the new year. It sees Progress Inn remodeling the track with a much tougher and more techno inspired edge. The hypnotic beat patterns and mesmerizing harmonies are completely enchanting and drive the track to the main drop. After the strong percussive component gets washed away the perfectly plucked keys work some transcendent emotional magic. A subtle build soon reveals the futuristic groove once more where the strong harmonic components dance their way to a classy conclusion. Progress Inn's remix was also included in Hernan Cattaneo's highly influential December chart so you know it's one not to be missed!
The second and final remix is provided by Andy Arias who is returning to Sound Avenue for his fourth appearance. The Argentinean producer was an integral part in the first year of Sound Avenue's existence as he supplied two remixes as part of the labels first five releases. For his 'Holograms Of Life' interpretation Andy has crafted a funky, percussive rework which complements the previous two versions very well. The first half of the record builds mightily with a prominent stab, dynamic hits and a wealth of swirling electronics which create the ultimate rhythmic vortex. As the production breaks down it transitions briefly into a serene soundscape which eases the huge tension the track possesses. After the ambiance gets washed way the gyrating rhythms start to build and that vibrant tension is reborn for suitably big finale which goes down as Andy's best production to date.
