Khruangbin are the Texas based three-piece that make psychedelic, acid jazz infused Thai funk music. Oh yes. Comprised of Laura Lee, Mark Speer and Donald Johnson, the trio have supported Bonobo across his USA tour and even had a track included in his Late Night Tales mix last year.LNT's artist label Night Time Stories subsequently signed them up, with single 'A Calf Born In Winter' released 19th May and an album in the works. Providing the soundtrack to your dreams and entering i-D's mid-week wind down session for their first ever mix, these are the psychedelic sounds of Khruangbin. Drift off.

Fresh from playing CMJ, Adrian Galvin and Luca Buccellati are @Yellerkin, the handsome twosome currently winning over much of the industry (and the world) with their new single, Tools. Having just dropped the track's trippy visuals, the NY band have clearly been having late night adventures in the woods involving a touch of grave digging and plenty of Pranayama breath yoga/shamanic dance routine. Produced in their Bushwick bedrooms, Tools is a real genre hybrid, with a contagious energy pulsating as the boys reflect on the state of our generation. Premiere: Yellerkin - Tools (Louis The Child Remix)

Belfast-raised, London-based duo Bicep have risen over the past five years to become one of house music’s most sought after outfits. Their punchy and infectious, dance floor ready style and penchant for sharing good music via their blog saw them gain serious status in the scene. With releases on Throne Of Blood, KMS, Love Fever and their own Feel My Bicep imprint, the pair return to their second home at Will Saul’s AUS Music with something with a little less of a straight 4x4 feel. The title track rolls on with bubbling synths and epic strings that rise and fall from the off, enthralling you in a hazy trance.
Now, i-D premiere the second cut from the EP. Celeste has a tribal tone that sets pace for the building filtered piano and a swooning distant vocal that flex into the trademark Bicep chord stabs. This one's a vibe!

Premiere: Bicep - Celeste

With his baritone of butter, Jacob Banks could be seen as a successor to any of the 60s and 70s soul greats. But Banks' independently released music carries a different message for a different time. Currently unsigned, the Birmingham singer created his new EP, Paradox, entirely by himself - from mixing and mastering to designing the artwork. "I've put my heart on the line," Banks points out of the 7-track compilation of soul-searching songs that scale resentment and redemption. Taken from Paradox, the foot-stomping, fist-pumping Monster, produced by Show N Prove and Banks, is a passionate recourse aimed at the enemy - both external and within. “This song was born out of a lot anger," says Jacob. "I wrote it in my bathroom  - proper rock and roll! I’m going through life at a very fast pace and I’m learning a lot of things the hard way. One of the things I’ve learnt is that as much as I don’t like it, sometimes you have to become a monster to get what you want and I may well have to become the miracle I’m searching for.”
