FFF always comes with the heat with his unique blend of choppy beats and dual sensibility. The perfect combination of light and dark culminating in a profusion of emotions and euphoric whiplash. Now the Rotterdam junglist makes the step up to heavyweight with his debut on Lobster Theremin, featuring four club-ready cuts.

Title track ‘One Tribe’ builds slowly in anticipation, teasing listeners before being thrown into a cascade of fire. Gnarling synths, nausinating drums and hypnotic vocals acting as the source to create a kinetic, chemical reaction. ‘So Special’ radiates joy as it moves through sound systems with a spring in it’s step; followed up by a magnetic acid switch during the track's second half.

FFF’s music finds the balance between classic sounds with a flare for the enigmatic. ‘It’s Official’ rides a steady 4x4 beat with one of the most ecstatic piano rolls and vocal cuts you’re likely to hear all summer; before being shown the door to an alternate world. The EP comes to a close with ‘Weak Capacity’ a caffeine-charged rhythm inspired by the rave.

With a string of releases on Hot Haus, Running Out Of Steam and Distant Horizons, M4A4 is no stranger to creating ear-catching dance music against a backdrop of collective influences, ranging from UKG, house and lunging 2-step. The prolific producer now makes his debut for Breaks ‘N’ Pieces - twisting the standard house template; with one eye on the past and another on the future. 

‘Cartier’ creates a spark by combining slinky drums and classic house sounds with an M4A4 signature twist; while also offering a zesty 2-step digi-only version. ‘Enchanter’ is a punchier affair, with layers of nostalgia painted vividly within dreamy pads and M1 organs, before ‘Starbeam’ comes in as smooth as a knife to melted butter, with a bassline as tantalizing as it is hard. Each element within its structures supports another - creating a harmonized symphony of dance-floor conduction. 

Responsible for some of the best UK induced music of 21’ -  Interplanetary Criminal is on hand to remix, this time with a reflective rendition of ‘Starbeam.’ Neon lights luminate a smoke-filled dance-floor in a kaleidoscope of boundless colour, showing another face to Interplanetary Criminal’s seemingly endless talents.

Arriving on Lobster Theremin’s White Label on comes a fresh-sounding and typically loud release from Leeds vinyl enthusiast Peaky Beats. Never one to be pigeon-holed into a specific style of music, his recent releases have explored 2-step, speed garage and dub - bringing his wicked ear for big UK blends into the spotlight - and earmarking him as one of the UK’s most exciting emerging producers. 
On Paradise Falls EP, Peaky Beats unites the worlds of jungle, drum & bass and 2-step on a high velocity, future-facing project, with a little help from contemporary jungle legend Tim Reaper.
‘Paradise Falls’ is a melodic stepper that ventures close to 150BPM territory. Those skippy UKG elements are all there, but this time with a hefty dose of jungle influence which brings a certain weightlessness to the track. ‘Soul Diesel’ ventures further into the garage sphere; the velocity diminishing slightly as the vitality continues to soar. Introspective breaks for sunny days. 
‘Tangerine Dream’ is a prime old school cut of dubbed-out nostalgia. Sitting somewhere between The Streets, El-B and Coco Bryce, its deep bass-weight inspires  big ‘Any Jungle In, Guy?’ energy, before Tim Reaper’s remix of ‘Paradise Falls’ blows the bloody doors off with a typically emotive and atmospheric cut of jungle fantasia.

UK duo Local Group (aka Corporeal Face and LMajor) follow up their sold out ‘Laser Dome’ EP and appearance on ‘Secret Rave 4’ with a ‘Fresh Rhythms’ EP that may contain tracks up to three years old.

After last summer’s appearance at Field Maneuvers, the Oxford festival they’re residents at, one punter requested ‘Local Group for 36 hours straight’ in 2020. Negotiations are on-going. In the
meantime, this four-tracker provides almost 25 minutes of their ‘Field Maneuvers famous’ sound.

Traversing breakbeat styles and tempos, ‘Fresh Rhythms’ outlines the roving rave sound that has seen Local Group play alongside DJs from Eris Drew to Grooverider.

‘Baby Talk’ self-identifies as a ‘Hardcore Summer Anthem’. It’s got uplifting piano and a glissando, the classic switch up between light and dark, and a spine-tingling vocal that fitted like a silk glove. Why wear a silk glove in the studio? It helps EQ your snares, bro.

‘Fresh Rhythm’ is ‘avin’ it 150BPM hardcore acid breaks with a brief but cheeky donk mid-section. It’s the title track but is on A2. A mystery deeper than the cover of The Beatles ‘Abbey Road’ album.

‘Stolen Dreams’ continues the acid, but in breakbeat house form – in reverence to 1992’s ‘XL- Recordings: The Third Chapter - Breakbeat House’ compilation. Samples various favourite tracks about dreams, hence the title. Follow your dreams. They may be cheating on you.

‘Back In The Daze’ is late 90s D&B, a formative era for Local Group, channeled into 130 amen breaks and topped with the sort of soulful vocal loved by all-time hero Manix. As the saying goes, if you can remember the 90s you weren’t there. At a squat rave. On K.

Couldn't quite find a place for this one but didn't want it to be another one of those projects that sits on a hard drive and never gets released after being made in lockdown. Also wanted to contribute something to all the class material being released on Bandcamp friday every month. They'll be waiving their revenue share on all purchase's again this friday to support artists and labels impacted by the pandemic. Ahead of @chokibikirecords's ‘Breaks for Days Vol.1’ release, we premiere the track ‘Skinny Mysterio’ by Irish DJ and producer, Sharpson. 

Choki Biki Records is a new Dublin Based Label run by Dónal Sharpson. After being inspired by the quality of demos he had received over a number of years, Dónal decided to set up a label with the same name of his favourite default snack. That same mentality applies to their first VA release, that the record can be a DJs default when spinning, just as breaks are the go to for many DJs when playing other genres such as techno and house, etc.

Choki Biki Records previously kicked things off for themselves in early 2020 with their monthly DDR Show. Their show initially started out as a show to showcase up and coming producers and DJs, giving them a chance to have their tracks and mixes heard on the radio platform.
