Shield and Robytek poured their hearts into creating a piece that will carry us into the Summer. Tested rigorously on various dancefloors, clubs, and festivals over the past few months, the Club mix is primed to ignite your sound system.
Shield and Robytek return to Rebirth with “Shuka” their latest single featuring a collaboration with Emmanuel Jal. The inception of this track traces back to 2021 when the duo began working on guitar parts composed by the Congolese artist Samba Mapangala. Although the track was momentarily set aside, it came back to life towards the end of 2022 when Emmanuel Jal instantly fell head over heels for it. A few days later, 'Shuka' was born! Alex Malheiros of the renowned Brazilian band Azymuth also contributed bass and additional guitar parts.
'Shuka' translates to 'get down' conveying a message of encouragement to approach life with determination, pushing yourself to reach your deserved place, and then celebrating with old and young, relatives and friends by getting down.

Emmanuel Jal is a South Sudanese rapper, singer, actor, activist, and public speaker whose work has transformed the lives of millions in his native homeland. Emerging from a tumultuous childhood as a child soldier in war-torn Southern Sudan in the early '80s, Emmanuel has overcome immense personal struggles to become a successful recording artist and peace ambassador, now residing in Toronto, Canada. Throughout his career, he has garnered worldwide acclaim for his unique blend of Hip Hop and Afro pop, spreading messages of reconciliation and peace. He has been nominated for 2 Juno Awards in the Best International Album category and has released six award-nominated studio albums. Jal’s music has made significant strides in the Afrotech sphere, with numerous single releases, including 'Kuar' (FNX Omar & Henrik Schwarz), 'Hey Mama' (Da Capo), 'Guaja' (Levy), and 'Gorah' (Nitefreak).
His live performances include appearances at Live 8, Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Concert, and the One Concert for His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Emmanuel has collaborated and shared the stage with artists such as Lauryn Hill, Xavier Rudd, Peter Gabriel, Nelly Furtado, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Joss Stone, Ed Sheeran, Nile Rodgers and Alicia Keys.

Circulating on a few limited advanced test pressings, the official release is set for May 10th 2024.
