Seattle-based DJ and producer Jeff McIlwain aka Lusine makes electronic music that'll make you want to get creative too. Slumber Session: Lusine

The sound of dreamland this week comes from a collaborative effort between multi instrumentalist and producer William Yates aka Memotone and Glasgow via Brighton based Soroosh Khavari aka Soosh. The pair have are set to release their atmospheric yet perfectly musical, Memoosh LP on Monday 6th October via Project Mooncircle and now deliver your mid-week lullaby exclusively for i-D. Memtone delivers the first insomnia-battling 31 minutes, followed by a meditative ending courtesy of Soosh. Press play and drift away.

"I have collected a small selection of music which, in my mind, is a perfect tonic to insomnia. There are enough imaginative ideas in the first half of the mix to tire your brain out, walking across the many wonderful and stange landscapes of your inner environment, before slowing lowering you into the deeper, more solidly rooted, sleep enducing tones. However, I feel it would be a shame to actually fall asleep as there is just as much to pay attention too in the latter half of the mix. Solid Steel (13th March) We welcome back Portico to Solid Steel having previously been guests in 2012. They are celebrating the release of their new album 'Living Fields' which is out on March 30th and their mix includes the title track featuring Jono Mcleery and '101' featuring Joe Neman from Alt J . They had this to say;

The Comet Is Coming are our guests in Hour 2 and to celebrate the release of their debut album Channel The Spirits on The Leaf Label, King Shabaka, aka Shabaka Hutchings (also of Sons Of Kemet and Melt Yourself Down) drops his first mixtape with a quality selection of music personal to him. He had this to say about his mix;

"I've never done a mixtape before so when asked to do this I immediately though back to my favourite DJs and what their selections did for me. I love it when I hear massive leaps in genre during a set which seem to make sense despite all the odds and retain a trajectory of intensity. Immediately I think of Gaslamp Killer who I toured with last year and was able to see him do his thing up close, and Ntone Edjabe who is a DJ extraordinaire based in Cape Town. These are all tunes that have meant a lot to me at various points in my life so it's interesting for me to see the narrative which connects them."

Hailing from London, DJ duo We Are The Horsemen are made up of DJ Harv and SubOne. The duo's inspirations lie in their experiences growing up in London and abroad. They are both of Indian heritage and would go to the cinema together to watch Bollywood films. Struck the music scores at an early age, the pair of DJs got into a range from music from Africa, Latin America, disco, jazz and more. DJ Harv was surrounded by percussive to African flutes, harps and more whilst going to school in Tanzania. Their Worldwide mix centres on their favourite tunes featuring Sun Ra & His Arkestra With Symphony Orchestra, dance music from R.D Burman and Shankar Jaikishan.
