06.01.2024 the venue called Projekt Lab in Poznań was closing for good. This club has grown into the legendary status on the Polish underground music scene. We played b2b set there during The Last Dance with Wency (@plebs-954732302).
I decided to take the tracks I had prepared for this night and put a set out of it, enjoy.

Techno Selection 2 (tracks from The Last Dance @ Projekt LAB)

Istota is a producer and DJ navigating the deeper dimensions of techno. Based in Poznań, he has been active in electronic music since 2011, initially emerging from the world of drum & bass before evolving toward a more minimalist and introspective sound. His productions are deliberately abstract—free from imposed narratives—leaving space for listeners to shape their own mental and emotional journeys through sound.

His work has been released by labels such as Rawganics, Diffuse Reality, Vykhod Sily Recordings, Mindtrick Records, Ronin Ordinance, Literature Recordings, Singularity Audio, Flower Records, Hangout Music, and on a compilation by the Polish club Schron. With a discography that spans both club-driven and experimental works, Istota continuously balances functionality with depth.

In 2025, he launched his own imprint IST, conceived as an annual archive of his creative output. Each release is a full-length compilation collecting all of his tracks produced in a given year. The first release, PRE 2025, was issued in early 2025, with 2025 set for release in January 2026.

From 2017 to 2020, Istota ran the independent label Black Crane, promoting experimental electronic and bass music. He also played a key role in the Gamma Festival—a DIY electronic music event held in Gniezno between 2014 and 2018. Currently, he is involved in the Dungeon Beats project, focusing on organizational and technical aspects behind the scenes while maintaining a strong artistic identity rooted in techno.

As a DJ, Istota delivers hypnotic and restrained sets that revolve around rhythm, atmosphere, and slow evolution. Whether in a club or a solitary setting, his sound invites deep listening and an altered sense of time—an introspective approach to dance music shaped by patience and nuance.
